Need help choosing a jogging stroller

I'm in the market for a new double stroller! I have a tandem that we are using a lot right now (mainly because I can snap in both the carseats) but I want to buy a side-by-side jogging stroller for the summer (camping season!!). I'm looking at the Baby Jogger Double City series, or the Valco Runabout Tri mode twin. Does anyone have either of these? I'm leaning towards the Valco because I love the color it comes in (bubblegum!) and I also like the fact that you can attach the extra toddler seat and have the stroller sit 3 instead of just two. It would be perfect for my 23 month old. I haven't seen either in person, and I would just be purchasing it online and getting it shipped to me, so I'm a bit nervous about making such a big purchase without trying it first. I live in a small town and there are no stores here that carry those kinds of strollers. Any opinions? I could really use them while I try to make up my mind!

I have the Baby Jogger Perfomance Double and I love it. I only have my twins and no other children, yet, but it works great for me and gets used everyday. Very smooth ride, easy to push, comfy for my boys, good storage for toting snacks, toys, water bottles for me, etc. The only downside is that its a pain to fold up, but we almost never do it. We just keep it parked in the garage. Also, front wheel doesn't swivel but I prefer it because it allows for better control when you are running and pushing the jogger with just one hand.

 

It probably depends on what you're using it for. The Baby Jogger Performance or Q-series is intended for running. It has huge, 20inch wheels and the front wheel does not swivel. I am currently in the process of getting the CFO of the family to release funds so I can buy one.

The other two are probably better for multi-use, not running. The smaller wheels mean way more effort if you are planning on running with it. The swivel is probably great for manuverability and those two (Baby Jogger City Series and the Valco) seem to have more in the way of storage etc.

Oh wow. I just got the Valco and I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it. It is so sturdy and roomy and I could go on and on. I had to get that because I needed the toddler attachment and it's the best purchase ever! I would have got the bubblegum because I loved that and have all girls but went with black so when I resell it people with boys may want it. It looks so cool though. I'm a dork but I keep looking at it and checking it out. Everyday I can't wait to go use it. It is so easy to push. I went through a man on ebay who has a store on the valcobaby website. 2008 w/warranty. Brand new through the make an offer deal and got it for less than list. I also had contacted the valco company and prices are increasing in April. I can send you those emails if you want or pm me for what I paid and who I went through on ebay. But I'd answer any questions such as measurements or anything or send pics. I must have contacted the company like crazy because I had so many questions purchasing this sight unseen.I've heard good about both strollers though. Good luck!

 

I have the baby jogger city series and I LOVE it. It also comes with a toddler jump seat!! I am buying the jump seat for when the new baby comes.

 

I have the Valco Twin Trimode with the Toddler seat and I absolutely love it. You can go wrong if you decide to invest in this one!!! FWIW I bought the Scarlett color for my boys and they look awesome in red

I am a dork, too b/c I can't wait to use mine, either! I have a 2 year old (very tall for his age) little one and twin boys.... We all love it!!! I find it easier to push than my single jogger or my other single stollers (even w/ all three in it) - graco and peg perego. It is worth the price..the only drawback is that it is heavy, so I have not taken it w/ me in the car...but if we go on a trip to someplace like Disney, we will definitely bring it along. I bought harlequinn black w/ silver trim and love the sleek look.
