Do your kiddos have any favorites?? The only thing my girls have seen are Baby Einstein's Baby Moves and On the Go. We have a 9 hour drive coming up and I want to have some DVDs for the ride....

    Thanks for your suggestions!

I found that my kids love the old Disney movies. Lady and the Tramp, Dumbo, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and The Jungle Book are ones they will "watch". The great thing is they are only 1 hour long at the most so their little attention spans aren't taxed and my oldest can actually follow along. He just now really likes longer movies, Cars, Cinderella 3, Shrek, and Finding Nemo all keep his attention most of the time and the twins will watch at least the first 30 minutes. Funny how I have all boys and Cinderella is one of my top watched movies. :)

My girls loved the Laurie Berkner Band DVD at that age, and they still do (they are 2 1/2).

At that age, mine still watched primarily Baby Einsteins, but we had a few Sesame Street DVDs they enjoyed. They also were starting to get into Nemo, which was really their first real movie.

My girls only like one DVD, and that is Sesame Street "Learning About Letters." It was the first one they ever saw and they just seem to have imprinted on it. If I try to show them another one (even if it has Big Bird and Snuffleupagus in it too), they demand the original one.

Ditto this. My kids like what they are used to. Even if it drives me nuts to see it for the umpteen millionth time, they love the familiarity.

They aren't as captivated by the Baby Einsteins anymore, but their favs were Mozart, Bach, and Monet. If we played it in the middle of the afternoon it wouldn't keep their attention (the cupboards are MUCH more interesting), however if we were on a long car drive and were desperate for entertainment, they'd be more than happy to watch them.

Since the boys were about 11 months old their absolute favorite has been the Signing Time DVD series. Their favorites have been volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, & 11. We tried the "Baby Signing Time" DVDs and they weren't as interested in them.

I would also suggest going to your library and borrowing some interesting ones. If they like them you can always buy them later, if not, you've lost nothing. We did this for a trip when the boys were 16m and they enjoyed a few Elmo, Teletubbies, and Mr. Rogers DVDs

I'm not sure if these were recommended yet, but mine loved Baby Signing Time and Leap Frog Letter Factory at that age.

Signing Time was my girls absolute favorite at that age and they still love them now. (www.signingtime.com) They also loved the Barney DVDs at that age.

They love Singing Time (regular, haven't tried the Baby version). Their absolute favorite one is #6, "My Favorite Things". They also recently rediscovered Baby Einstein, and will watch the occasional Blue's Clues and Backyardigans. They like Sesame Street, but only certain segments. Oh, almost forgot the Curious George movie. We have watched that over and over, although I do it 30 min at a time.

We have a collection of Elmo (like Elmo's World - Food, Water, & Exercise) and Sesame Street (like Sesame Street - What's the Name of That Song?) DVD's that they love. We also have this Disneyland Sing-Along Songs DVD that they love to sing and dance to. This DVD has subtitles on the bottom so that everyone can sing along and it showcases Disneyland and many characters (i.e. no cartoons). We plan on taking the children to Disneyland next year and are using this DVD to help introduce both Disneyland and its characters to them.

I was also going to suggest the Leap Frog 'Letter Factory'. This DVD just has a way of reinforcing the letters that kids enjoy. I bought it for my older son, who was having trouble memorizing his letters. The twins, though, enjoyed this DVD so much and I was shocked when my 18 month olds knew all of their letters and letter sounds within a few months of owning this DVD! It is short and sweet, holds their interest, and is educational to boot. We also have the 'Talking words factory' and it is also popular - but the 'Letter Factory' is more loved.
