Should i take her to the Dr?

They got their shots on wed. and Morgan have a fever of 99.4 and he still gave her the shots anyways.
She was cranky for a couple of days and yesterday she seemed to be feeling better.. But now today she has a fever of 102. Should i take her to the ER? DH thinks i should.. I am so worried.. Should a fever come back this far after the shots were given?

    Please help ASAP

    TIA

    Ashley

How old is she? If she's under 2 months, then you need to go to the ER. If she's over then give her some Tylenol and see if the fever goes down within the next 1/2 hour. Is this her first set of shots and, if not, has she reacted to them before? Dax got 102 degree fevers from his 4 and 9 month shots but they went down with Tylenol so it was okay. Because of that though we are going to a delayed vax schedule and only giving him one shot at a time from now on.

Your pedi probably also has an answering service so I would call and tell them what is up and they will have a nurse or doctor call you back.

This new fever could be totally unrelated to the earlier one...
Have you given her anything to make the fever go down? Like Tylenol or Motrin? Motrin was always my best bet for my oldest; but my pedi says babies younger than 6 months can't have it yet...
I don't know how old your baby is; but they say to see a doc immediately if there is a fever for babies 3 months and younger....HTH...

How long has she been running a fever today? Is she otherwise acting alright? Is she tired, sluggish, won't eat??
If she just has the fever, you might could wait on the medicine to kick in for a few hours...but if she isn't feeling like herself all the way around, acting listless, not eating, fussy to the hilt..I'd take her to the ER...

Good luck...and try to stay calm...

These are their 4 month shots.. They also just got over Pneumonia. I gave her tylenol about an hour ago and now the fever is at 100.

eta: she is fussy and not eating as much

If I were you I would call the pedi's answering service and talk to the doctor on call. That way if they send you to the ER you probably won't have to wait as long because they will call ahead and tell them you are coming in. GL and I hope she feels better soon, Leighann

I would have told you to wait it out, but I have toddlers and things don't seem as pressing anymore!! Oh well! $500 is worth the peace of mind if you are worried!!

We had that when the girls were 5 months old. Even though the rash looks bad according to my pedi it doesn't bother them. GL and hope your lil peanut feels better soon.
