Hello, I am new here, we are expecting twins, I have looked everywhere and can not find the answer.

When does babies turn head down for birth providing they will both turn head down? What is the latest they will turn?

We are 19 week 5 days, due jan 16, I thought both were head down, based off of me finding the heartbeats low, but this morning, the left one flipped I know, it hurt, I saw it, and check heartbeat after, and it is higher now, and a dimple on my abd.

    Thanks for your help, Bec

Hi Becky & :welcome: to Twinstuff!!

My Baby B continued to turn all the way up till my c-section date!
I was getting ultrasounds every other week & she was in a different position every time :)
Baby A stayed head down just about the whole time.

As long as they have the room they will probably be busy little swimmers in there!

My Baby A was Head down the whole time. Baby B was head up/transverse the whole time.. But then flipped at about 34 or so weeks

My babies flip between head down and transverse like twice a week.

Baby A was breech from about 28 weeks and didn't have room to turn. baby B switched between transverse and head down until about 32 weeks. We were told that babies can switch positions at any time but that after 32 weeks it was unlikely depending on their size (ours were big).

By what I'm told, there are no guarantees.

My twin-a was vertex all the way to 28 weeks and at 32 weeks we learned he went breech. I'm hoping he'll go back to vertex before the big day!

:good: This is what I heard from my doctor and what I've learned from reading these forums.

For me, Baby A was always head down and Baby A was sort of squished on the side with her head up.

They can flip at any time but they're less likely to flip after 32 weeks or so. If you're reaching the end of your 2nd trimester and Baby A is staying breech there are some exercises you can do that help get her to turn at spinningbabies.com . Like the others said, there are no guarantees though. :)

    Welcome to TS becky!!

there is no time babies turn. They will turn (or not) whenever they feel like it, no matter how tight their living arrangements are. Mine were flipping right up until delivery at 36 weeks despite my doc saying it wasn't likely they'd t urn after 32 weeks or so.

i think they can flip pretty much the whole time.
i know they gave me an ultrasound right before they had me pushing to see what direction they were in :)
