need advice on carseats

Hi all!

My 16 month olds are finally too tall for their infant carseats! They are still only about 17 1/2 pounds so we still need them to be rear facing. I guess that means I need to buy some convertible carseats. Any advice? I know that so many people love the Britax Roundabout and I don't want to sacrifice ANY safety for cost but is there another one that people love and have good reviews but not so much $$$?

I guess I could do my own research but why reinvent the wheel ... ha ha! Thanks for any input you all have!

I have the Britax Marathon's and absolutely love them!! I know several people that have the Evenflo Triumph's and really like them as well and they are not as expensive.

 

I have the Evenflo Triumph Advance and I think they're great. I bought them because my girls seemed comfier in them than in the Britax. I was willing to spend the extra money for the Britax, but the Evengflos get the same safety ratings (or at least they did when I was looking), so I don't feel like I've sacrificed anything. They're really great seats. Easy to install, incredibly easy to adjust the straps, lots of padding, the cover comes off nicely for washing, etc, etc, etc. I definitely recommend them.

 

I can't help, we have the Britax Marathons. Love them, though. Don't know about other ones, but I love that mine have an additional anchor in the back that I can hook behind the seat (we don't have Latch)

 

I have the Britax Marathon and love them. I just bought two more for dh car because Target has them for $43 with free shipping. That is a savings of 85% I am not sure how long this will last. They also will not ship for a couple of weeks.

I would order the Marathons from target. You can't beat that price.

Don't get Roundabouts unless you have little peanuts, they'll grow out of them before they're ready for a booster (at least 4 yo AND 40lbs). I have Marathons and a Radian 65 (for my 95% 4 1/2 year old). Love all seats, but Marathons are easier to install! But Radians are great for supertall children if you like to keep them harnassed.

 

THanks for the heads up on the britax deals. I got 2, and I kinda wish I'd gotten one more, but now they're sold out. What an awesome deal. Every mom's sight I know was lit up buzzing about it. You really cannot beat that deal.
