need activity ideas!

my twins just turned 1!
could you give me your suggestions on activities to do with them? they are getting really bored with their toys. they got a ton of stuff
for their birthdays, but that lasts only a few minutes.

i'm thinking of getting a little pool for the backyard. i could put them in the pool a few times a week.

let me know what you guys do with your day!

I need some fresh ideas-so I hope some people have some! Here are a few things that we do:

sand/water table

coloring-crayons or markers. If markers-in the highchairs!

fingerpainting-just a diaper-in the highchair

playdoh

outdoors, walks, swings, etc...

baking-they LOVE this. I put them on the counter and they help add ingredients.

Granted my boys are older than your twins, but these are a few ideas for now....and some for later!

 

We do: reading, coloring, outdoor walks, playground, playing on the deck-we don't have a yard per se, it's taken up by a pool, we have little kiddie pool that they can play in when the weather is warm, singing, dancing

 

We're going to get a little pool too. Have you tried giving them things that aren't toys to play with? My girls were bored with their toys too and I gave them an ice cream bucket, plastic colander, and two wooden spoons and they were busy forever with them. Sometimes they like to sit in their high chairs while I'm cooking or cleaning and play with silicon muffin cups. Yesterday we went to Walmart to get water refills and they loved holding onto the empty gallon jugs, so today I think I will give them a few empty milk jugs (cleaned and without lids) to play with for a while. We've also done crayons in the high chair, but they aren't too excited about that yet. My husband just made them a sand table, so this afternoon we'll go play with that for a while. I hate the mess, but they have fun.
