Well both my girls have bad colds  ....and I was reading in other post you are putting humidifier in the rooms and this seems to help them...so my question is what humidifiers did you use and which ones are the best...I was told there are different kinds eg. cool mist, no mist, warm air etc I'm so confused.... and I just need one that will do the job..I must be the only person who doesn't know a damn thing about humidifiers.

Thanks for any help you can provide...as we are going to pick one up this afternoon.

Definately cool mist (to avoid burns) also try the sudafed (or other) plug ins...they have worked really well for us. Good luck, I hope everyone is feeling better soon!

We use a Vick's Cold mist humidifier and it does a great job with little upkeep. My sons both had RSV when they were babies and this seems to really help as they are both so prone to wheezing/croupy symptoms if they get any kind of cold.

I prefer a cool mist humidifier. Just make sure you buy distilled water to put in it otherwise you end up with white powder everywhere.

I just wanted to know did you use the plug ins with the humidifier or just one at a time...and are they safe for my babies at this age they are a little over 11 months (the Plug-Ins)???

We have a Reli-on Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier. We paid under 30.00 for it and we LOVE it... Got it from walmart.

I use the PediaCare plug-ins every night along with a cool mist humidifier that I keep running all the time unless I go out.
I have really dry heat and I was having constant nose bleeds and the girls were stuffy. So I do both, just the humidifier wasnt cutting it for us, but once I started using the plugins it really made a difference.

Plus the humidifier serves as my white noise too, the one night I didnt use it I was up all night but the girls slept fine! :p

Thank you ladies for your response...I'm worried about there cough and scared they are just going to keep giving it back and forth to eachother cause they swap soothers and bottles and I can't keep them from doing that..I'm trying the saline drips and will be trying the humidifer and most likely these plug ins you have mentioned..I just don't tknow if I have to worry about RSV and there age...since they weren't preemies nor spend anytime in the NICU..just not sure if at 11 months it could end up being RSV or is it just a simple cold we are fighting here...I hope they are going to get better soon they are so helpless and miserable...and thier noses are getting so red from all the wiping I'm doing.. they see me coming with the kleenex and they run LOL...

    Well thanks again
