Poor little Amy has a booboo rash in the crease of her neck. I was bathing her and realised I couldn't get my wash cloth covered finger into the creasiest crease, so I use a Qtip. I saw a little blood on the Qtip!!!!

I got so scared. My little baby was bleeding. I rise off the soap and patted the area dry- a little more blood in a line about 3 inches lomg--but very skinny.

I put some Aquaphor on and called the Ped. I am waiting for a call back.

Any advise....antibiotic? , pain killer? what should I do?

    thanks

Poor punkin. Maybe some neosporin to help it heal? And then Aquaphor over the top of that?

    I agree Neosporin.

Did milk get in the wrinkle that you didn't see? A lot of times formula would drip down in my little ones necks and I had to wipe them extra thouroughly to get it all.

It could have been milk. It could alsoo be the fact that our AC was out. I just can't get over how hidden the little creas is/ was. I feel horrible that I missed it. And its funny because Amy has had a neck tilt thing. I have been looking at her side neck fold and doing side neck stretches but I never saw that dumb little crease.

Watch it to make sure it doesn't spread. If it does it could be a yeast infection. Or you can look at it and see if it looks yeasty. It usually has red bumps that spread and it can also have a smell. If it is just put anti-fungal cream on it and keep it dry. That should clear it right up for ya.

I just went through this with Liberty. It started as a small rash from drool, and it spread to her chest.

Don't feel to bad - I am pretty sure that hidden neck crease got all of us!

We ended up using our bare hands to wash their necks (with soap on them of course!). I also wiped their necks after every feeding.

my doc said if it's just a little raw, either diaper rash cream or a paste made of cornstartch and a little water. If it's actually open, use some neosporin or bacitracin..
