I had nausea and morning sickness until 17-18 weeks and then it went away - for the past week or so, I feel like crud again, this time only in the morning for a few hours. Is that normal?!

I was the same way and then it came back in the 3rd trimester. My doc did some blood work to make sure everything was normal, he suspected it was. Just told me to take the phenegran , I also used my sea bands. Im at 32 and its.subsided again for the most part.

Hope you get to feeling better!

I had nausea all the time while pregnant - morning, noon, evening, 3 AM, ALL the time, every day until the day I gave birth :). I think some people are like that, no big deal. I just ignored it as much as possible, but that's the reason I was afraid to eat too much.

I can't forget the feeling I had at my C-Section, I was so excited to see the kids and about the birth of course, but the feeling of relief to feel my stomach is normal again - that was something I didn't expect to be so excited about. I noticed it instantly, the second they took my twin B out.

I was sick pretty much throughout my pregnancy, much like you. At the end it felt like it was just because there was no more room. Just take it easy as much as you can and eat/drink what you can, when you can. It will feel like a distant memory soon enough!

Very normal! I had very minimal morning sickness with my twins but it came & went at weird times with my singleton. The first trimester was mild nausea but the first week of the second trimester was puke city. Then I was fine again till the first week of my third trimester - repeat puke city.

Here's what my midwife told me about morning sickness. Usually the transitions between trimesters tend to be the worst times because the first transition is when your hormones pretty much all hit their peak & the second transition is when your blood volume hits its peak. She also said there are 3 common causes of morning sickness:
    1) not eating/drinking enough. It's important to eat small, frequent meals and then again when you feel nauseous - I know that's counter intuitive but it will help. It's also helpful to try & eat protein as much as you can. This helps keep your blood sugar at a steady level which will reduce feelings of nauseousness. Also, make sure you're drinking lots of water - dehydration can increase feelings of nausea.
    2) being tired. Try to rest as much as you can, especially in the afternoon.
    3) hormones. Unfortunately, this is one you can't do much about but grin & bear it. If you can take steps to mitigate the previous two causes of morning sickness though, it'll help with this one too.

Hang in there! Feeling sick to your stomach all the time is the pits.

Thanks everyone! I was definitely tired this morning, so that might have contributed. Plus, I noticed I can't each much, so I'm sure my stomach was empty. I hasn't come back full force like the first tri, so that's a bonus!

And Monica, I'm looking forward to the feeling of having my stomach feel normal, thanks for that info!!!

This post was very helpful! Thank you ladies! I am 24 weeks with twins, a boy and a girl. :) I have been extremely sick, to the point of loosing 40+ pounds. My doc actually said I should go in for hydration therapy today...so I am on my way there as soon as I write this! I am looking forward to feeling normal again! Hehe! I keep messing with my husband and telling him that on the way home from the hospital I am making a stop at Red Lobster so I can eat a super yummy meal! ;) Hope you ladies feel better!
