My boys have been notoriously terrible at waking up in good moods. I have honestly envisioned them waking up from a nap in college and screaming hysterically until someone came to calm them down. They just don't wake up nicely and cry/scream/complain almost every time that they do.

Right now, for the first time in a very long time, they are in their cribs chatting with one another after a nap of more than one hour (also a rarity around here). No crying or screaming!! Here's hoping they are finally outgrowing the wake-up & cry routine!

Just had to share with someone who can understand how naggingly painful it is to hear them scream & cry EVERY time they wake up.

good for you all...yeah, there is nothing worse than babies waking up crying...glad 4 u the phase is over, hopefully!

I had the opposite, would cry before falling asleep, now they walk and are so tired, they go straight to sleep :)

Yeah for happy toddlers!!! There is nothing cuter than listening to my two chatting after their nap or in the morning when they wake up. :)

 Yeah! We have cry-wakeups a lot here too. It's such a relief when they wake up happy!

That is great. I remember some of your posts about waking up crying from a nap because mine did that too and it was awful. They still have their days, but they mostly wake up happy these days. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!!
