We are still having 2 naps per day. One in the late morning, about 1-2 hours and one after lunch, again 1-2 hours. Sometimes they are starting to fight the morning nap so i'm wondering, when did you go to just 1 longer nap? I think it would be great to have just 1 nice long nap maybe from 12-3 or something like that...

    Thanks!

At 19 months they went from 2 naps to one but mine are not long nappers and still only sleep and hour to an hour and a half once a day. I wish they would sleep for 3 hours!

we are still on 2 naps...it's not llooking like we will be dropping it anytime soon..around 830 or 9 they are very cranky or if we are out (thinking they will stay awake) they will fall asleep in the car seats or in the stroller..so I'm just giving them what they still obviously need.

I don't remember when my girls went to one nap but at 15mths I am starting to transition my son over to one nap. On the weekends he usually gets one nap and some days during the week. If he wakes up early then I put him down for a morning nap but if he wakes up at his normal time he gets one nap. I usually just see how he is doing in the morning, like if he is really cranky and rubbing his eyes I will put him down for a morning nap but if he's being good then I figure why bother since he's being good. But my son only takes about an hour in the morning (if he takes one and in the after noon I may get 2hrs our of him if no nap I might be a longer afternoon nap but that's not definite either.

We went to one nap at 17 months. Mine would have taken 2 naps longer, but it was getting too hard to squeeze 2 naps into their big sister's school schedule, so I wanted to be sure to have them down to one nap before school started up again. So we did it in July to be sure we were ready when school started late Aug.

My oldest DD went to one nap at 19 months.

when they were fighting the morning nap. that's when we switched and we just pushed the only nap till a little later (11:30 or so). i think it was so much harder for me to give up that nap than them. ;)

We did it at 17 months. They were fighting the afternoon nap though, then they would alternate who would take the nap and then there was the cranky when they got up from and nap and if the did not nap. So, right after thanksgiving we started to transition. We kept the morning nap but just started to push it back a bit each day.

And at first the one nap was actually shorter before it got longer. Have you tried pushing it back a bit and maybe shortening one of the two naps?

Dropping the nap is an adjustment for mommy though. This is when I would shower, read, eat, oh breathe. It was an adjustment.
