take only one nap per day? I've tried everything (I think) putting them down earlier , later, etc. They seem to do best with a nap aroun 10 10:30 an wake up 2-2 1/2h later, always in a great mood. Theystart to get fussy at around 6pm at which time we start our bedtime routine and they go to bed quite easily sleeping until 7am (up a couple of times to nurse). Trying to get them to take 2 naps is becoming more of a struggle and its more difficult to get them to sleep at night. Anyone else in the same boat, or have any suggestions? I've read HSHHC and No Cry Sleep Solution, I don't feel comfortable letting them CIO for a nap if thet don't really need it.

We are almost 11 months and I think we are headed in that direction unfortunately. It's either two short naps, or one nice long one, and I would rather have the nice long one on most days. They missed their morning nap this AM because of tball, and I put them down at 1130, they slept until 2, compared to the usual 45 minutes that I get out of them. BUT, that will probably be the only one that I get today! The trade-off will be that they will most likely go to bed early.

LOL I'm lucky if mine sleep for an hour a day total!
They have NEVER been good nappers. They sleep through the night (since 3 mos old) so I guess I can't complain, but only one nap here!

If they sleep 2 1/2 hrs for one nap and aren't cranky the rest of the time, I wouldn't push them to take a 2nd. My babies nap for about 1 hr in the morning and then for 1 1/2, sometimes 2 hrs in the afternoon if I'm lucky.

Mine missed their first nap yesterday because of church. They ended up crashing at home immediately after church. The only problem we encountered is they missed lunch. However, they were fine once they woke.

Mine are still at 2 naps, but if one nap is what works for your kids, I say go for it.
