sometimes when my kids get up, they eat and then want to go back to sleep about 45 mins later. they begin to get all cranky and then want to nap.
is this normal for them to want to nap right after they wake up from sleeping 8+ hours?

How early they wake up? If mine are waking up at 5:30 - 6am and I give them a bottle, sometimes they go back to sleep another hour or so. Sometimes they just stay up, but they are ready for a nap sooner than they would be if they would've woke up later.
They are still young. I don't remember for how long mine were awake at 4 months, but at 7 months they are still taking the first nap after 2 hours of being up.

we put them down around 10:45 and woke them up around 8. they started getting cranky about 45 mins later so i put one in his swing and rocked the other one. they are still sleeping!

Yes, mine were definitely like that. Even now, they get cranky about 1.5 hrs. after they wake up, and that's after sleeping for 12 hours.

makes me feel better! mine go down around 7:30pm, take a bottle around 5:30-6am, and go right back to sleep in their swings for a couple hrs.

I think it's normal. Babies often nap in the mornings after not being up for very long. Maybe an earlier bedtime so they could sleep longer at night might make them stay up longer in the mornings. :pardon:

yeah, i think it's normal too. i was always amazed that they could STTN and then be ready for another nap after an hour or so of being awake.

Yes, I think its normal too. We still have days like that when they are just still tired.
