I am having napping issues. I never had this problem with my oldest, he was a 2 times a day napper until he was 19 months. The boys typically nap twice a day, but this past week, if they nap in the morning, they dont see to want to nap in the afternoon. I need them to nap in the afternoon, all three boys go down at the same time, if I time it right. At 8 months, they should be napping twice a day, right....

My 11 month olds are still napping twice a day...

How long is their morning nap usually? If mine sleep long in the morning, i usually wake them up. I don't let the morning nap go more than 1.5 hours, and that usually leads to a good 1.5 to 2 hour afternoon nap. Maybe you should try waking them if they take too long of a morning nap?

Ours are still taking two naps, but their afternoon naps seem to have gotten shorter. I seem to remember with my older child, he dropped a nap around a year old....

Mine are 10.5 months old and still take two naps a day. But it's possible they are being put down too early or late and that is making their afternoon nap problematic. How long after they wake up from their first nap do you put them down? When you put them down do they cry/fuss or just hang out in their cribs without sleeping? How long after first showing sleepy cues do you put them down?

Typically the boys are up at 7. I put them down around 9-9;30. They don't fuss and go right to sleep. They nap for about 1.5 hrs. I put them down for their afternoon nap around 1-1;30 and they are so not interested in sleeping

You sound just like me. The twins HAVE to have an afternoon nap so I can get some peace and quie while my 2 year old sleeps then. They might be just fighting it because they are more aware of things and just don't want to miss out on things. Gavin (my boy twin) goes down no problem, unless he has to poop. But Olivia is my problem child. She will drink her bottle and then start to fuss in her crib. I just let her fuss and then she just eventually gets tired of fussing and goes to bed.

I need it for my sanity. Today NOBODY slept at the same time. I was ready to cry by supper time.

Oh no slipper!!! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! I remember during the early months when one twin went down, the other would wake up. I would call DW's work in tears I was so spent! I can't imagine going through that all over again!

My best advice would be to take a deep breath and just go with the flow. I find that if I fight the flow, it makes me more aggitated and then I break down. Whereas, if I step back and just accept things for what they are, I somehow get through the day and then hope for the best the next day....

    BIG HUG!

Thanks. I am usually ok, but I am all alone for over a week this week, so I am starting to get tired.
