    Hi there,

Well... I need some experienced opinions.. Ds is finally sleeping well through the night... gets up around 6 am...which kills me but he seems well rested.. He is only 11 months so it's way too early to drop the morning nap...so he seems so tired around 830 but he will not take a morning nap now... Then he is an absolute mess by 11:30am so i put him to bed and he was sleeping ok for 2 hours and then by 5:30pm he was back to being so tired he couldn't even keep his eyes open. He wakes around 830 pm and takes his bottle and sleeps till morning... I keep trying to push back bedtime so he sleeps later." I think what's happening is that because he is waking up so early he is overdone by morning nap and he is past tired..then afternoon nap has to be early...though today he only napped for 45 minutes in the afternoon and he was a mess by 430... What do I do? Any ideas on timing?

It seems counter-intuitive but you might try to move bed time up a bit to get him to sleep later.

Just wanted to say that my boys have just started doing the same thing - refusing their morning nap! They are way too young to go to one nap a day but I'm at a loss of what to do, too. They've been such great sleepers these past few months, I hate feeling like we're going backwards. I'll be watching this thread to see the advice you get!

Just wanted to share that DS FINALLY took a nap this morning for the first time in a week! The trick, I think, was several days of very early bedtimes.... Like 3 to 4 days .... Before we saw an improvement in sleep.... Naps were great and he even slept in a little today! Sleep truly does beget sleep I think..... Well.... Maybe I am a bit too enthusiastic because it has only happened today! Guess I will see what tomorrow brings!

You're right. Good sleep begets good sleep. :)
