napping question

My girls are 14 mo. old now, and still take two naps a day. Is this normal for their age, or should I be looking into vitamins or something?

 

My boys are 17 months old and still nap twice a day. They nap 1 to 1.5 hours in the morning, then another 2-3 hours in the afternoon. I normally have to wake them up or they'd sleep all day! They also sleep 12 hours at night, from 7 to 7.

I say just count your blessings - I know I do!

 

Mine napped twice a day until after they were 2yo. I think the "normal" range for dropping to one nap is 18mo-2years.

 

My two sleep in til 830-9am. I put them back down for a nap at noon, sleep til 230-3pm and then back in bed by 8 pm. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

 

My almost 18 mos olds are still napping twice a day.....at the last checkup I asked the pedi & he said to expect 2 naps till about 2 years old.

 

Mine just transitioned to one nap at about 20 months. I used to wonder the same thing when they'd sleep 12 hours at night, 1 1/2 hour AM nap and sometimes 3 hour PM nap. With all that sleep, they were barely up during the day. But I figured they wouldn't be sleeping if they didn't need it. I'd keep the current schedule until they refuse one and enjoy every minute of it for now!

 

Count your blessings! It won't last forever unfortunately. My 22 month olds are starting to refuse their ONE nap, and only sleep about 10-11 hours at night!
