Lately my body has MADE me sleep during the day :lazy: I take at least one nap per day and its about 1-2 hours long. But I also have't been falling asleep at night till around 12pm or 1 in the morning. I have delt with insomnia most of my adult life but it definatley gets worse when im pregnant. I have noticed that the feeling to nap has come around a lot sooner with this pregnancy than it did when i was pregnant with my son. And with me being on bed rest for only a few more days, im concerned when i go back to work that i'll be SO tired. Anyone else have this issue? How do you deal with it?

I did have the insomnia early on and was napping upto about 14 weeks. I do find that working I am awake I don't feel tired it's actually kind of energizing (for now lol) but days when I work I do sleep better maybe because it wears me out to a point. I know that sleeping is geting harder now at 25 weeks :( the way I se it is that it is preparing mefor slepless nights with 2 newborns :) but overall I say nap when you needto! And try to take it easy when you go back to work!

I was SOOOO tired early in my pregnancy. I'd climb the 3 flights of stairs to my apartment and pass out until DH put a plate of dinner on my lap. Then I'd put it next to me on the couch and pass out again for another hour or so. I would wake up randomly after midnight, especially when I found out they were twins and just marvel. My mind would race and I'd be unable to sleep for a good hour. This went away for me but then I had to pee every hour and I wouldn't be able to sleep b/c of that.

I'm 21 weeks and still exhausted. I take a nap every day when my 2 year old naps and sleep for as long has he does 1.5-2 hours. I could sleep for longer! I've been sleeping better than ever at night. I go to bed early, only wake to use the bathroom, and don't get up in the morning until a half hour before my husband leaves for work (so I can get around a bit before I'm left with the kids). I was hoping the exhaustion and sleeping all the time would pass once I got into the second trimester, but it doesn't seem to be doing that. I guess I'm stuck with it :( I feel like such a bum!

awe!!! Don't feel like a bum. You are totally not a bum!!!! May be its the bodies way of letting us know we need sleep now before the babies arrive. Not only that but these two children inside use a lot of our energy. I think the reason I am so tired is from all the movement they do. No i can't feel them yet but the two times we have done u/s they were wiggling all around lol little squirrmers that they are LOL :D

I have had horrible chronic insomnia for years and it only got worse while I was pregnant with the boys. I would literally be up for 20 hours before finally falling asleep and on a couple occasions I actually was up for more than 24 hours. I think I slept less in the 8 months I was pregnant that I had in the last 10 years. It was baaaaad! I tried unisom and Ambien and I still didn't sleep so I can't really say what helped. I do think that being on bed rest makes it harder to sleep at night since you are pretty confined to laying down and don't expend a lot of energy to feel tired. Working might actually help you sleep at night.

    Good luck!!

the only problem with working is that although its a office job and i will be sitting most of the day it is very stressfull and there are some changes that are going on as well at work. Im just afraid of being so exhausted just going down stairs and then up stairs in my home wore me out tonight grrrrr.
