My boys, 3.5 months, take their naps in our family room. It's usually in their bouncy chair or swing. Eventually, I would like to them to nap in their crib. At night, they sleep in their crib to start and then in our room if they wake for a feed. Do you think I should try soon to transition them to their room? One twin sleeps through anything (loud noises, 3 year old running around), the other twin tends to be more restless. They have no nap schedule and pretty much sleep on and off throughout the day.

I believe that babies don't get into their nap "schedule" until they are at least 4 months (in adjusted age from your due date). Mine were extremely fussy and I had to crawl away from swings just so I would not make noise walking.

Mine started to nap in their cribs at close to 5 months "adjusted" and after we ferberized them. Actually, they are just now starting to get into predictable naps. Before that, they slept anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours at completely random times.

    Good luck!

We moved to cribs around 4 months. We started with naps then did night. Since they already sleep in them for most of the night, you "should" have it easier.

I think (? can't remember), but we transitioned them to their cribs at night at 5 wks, and I'm pretty sure we did their naps in their cribs around that time too... I tried really hard to teach them good sleep habits. good luck.

We made the move to cribs & regular nap times at 4 months.

I am actually now facing the same issue. They do go down at night at their regular bedtime with no fuss whatsoever in their own cribs and sleep the night through with one feeding.
The naptime is different tho. My bigger baby cannot sleep in his crib, only in the swing, but gets uncomfortable after some time and wakes early, however I try every day to put him down in his crib for a nap and some days it is successful.
My younger son gets swaddled as soon as he is tired and I put him in his crib. He does not have a problem taking his nap there.

We are dealing with exact same thing right now. They sleep great in their cribs at night but during the day its whole different story. They only nap in their swings. I tried to put the in the cribs they went down great but they were up 15 mins later as in the swings they sleep for 1-2hrs at times.

We're in the same boat also- my babies are sleeping decently in their cribs at night (although nowhere remotely close to STTN), but during the day even my good sleeper will NOT even look at a crib without screaming. We're on a fairly good schedule with day naps in the swings. My daughter even does her naps in the swing with it turned off. Thanks to everyone for making me feel normal! :)

Mine are young still, 3 weeks old, but they nap and night time sleep in their cribs. Granted not every nap is in their beds, as all they do is sleep, but at least 3 naps a day are in their beds.

My girls also nap in their swings. They sleep just fine in their cribs at night, but the naptime swings are such a part of their routine that I don't want to mess with it. They napped decently in PNPs when we went to the ILs, but at our house, the master bedroom is on the first floor and the girls sleep on the second floor.

Between the twins and their big sister, I am exhausted by naptime and I just don't have the energy to go up and down the stairs to find lost binkies, etc. So into the swings they go!

we transitioned at 4 months, too.
they started fussing in their swings and although it took some tears (from me!!!! to deal with the frustration of them wanting to be rocked to sleep), it took me about a month and now naptimes are MUCH better.

My boys slept in their cribs at night from the day we came home from the hospital. But Jonathan needed to take naps in his crib. At 3 months, he became very aware of his surroundings and wanted to stay awake. Making him unbearable at the end of the day. I stated putting both of them in their cribs for naps and it made all the difference. The whole house was able to rest when they had a nap.
