I was wondering ladies how long do/did your 14 month old sleep in one day and how many naps is it over?

My 2 have a 2 hour nap between 10 and 12 but i am thinking of pushing it back an extra hour to see if that helps combat the grumpyness in the afternoon. Do you think this length of nap is normal for their age? x

I know this won't last much longer, but my boys still take 2 naps a day, and sleep for 1-2 hours during each nap. On a good day, that means I get 4 hours of nap time to do things around the house or just relax. I've been so spoiled by this I'm starting to dread the inevitable dropping of the morning nap!

Right around 14-15 months is when we started switching to one nap instead of two. Prior to the switch they would sleep 1-2 hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. With just one nap now (most days) they sleep anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3.5 hours. Usually it's about 2.5 hours, from 11:30 to 2. If your kids are awake from noon until bedtime that might be too long for their age. I would definitely try and push back the start time of their nap.

I agree that if you're only doing 1 nap to try and push it a bit later. Mine still (almost 19 months) take 2 naps a day:
    Wake around 6:30
    Nap 9:30-10:30
    Nap 2:00-4:00
    Bedtime 7:30 ish

I can't believe they're still doing this, but they're not complaining, so neither am I!

At that age, mine did about 9:30-10:15 and 1-2:30, so a total of just over 2 hours. That was on weekends -- at daycare they did one nap (starting around 12:30) of anything from 45 minutes (yikes) to 2 hours. It has definitely gotten longer recently. Now (19 months) we do just one nap everyday, and they almost always sleep at least 1.5 hours at daycare and 2 hours at home.

At that age, my girls were still doing 2 naps. wake at 6:15, first nap around 9:00 for about an hour and 1/2. Then another nap around 1:00 for an hour or two.

Now at 18 months, we've recently dropped the morning nap and they go down around 11:30/12:00 for a couple of hours. As they get used to this, we'll pust that nap later until it hits 1-1:30ish.

At that age mine were still on 2 naps. we get up late here so usually one from about 11:30-1 and another from about 4/4:30 - 6. They usually did anywhere from 3-4 hours of naps a day. We switched to one nap around 18/19 months. I just made the switch no moving naptimes and stuff and they now sleep from 1:30/2 - 4:30/5.

My guys both take one 2-3 hour nap and one 1-2 hour nap- usually not at the same time!
One takes a longer morning nap and the other a longer afternoon nap. They wake at 630 am and take first nap at 1030 and second nap at 330. I can usually count on one hour at each naptime to catch up on things or rest!
I know it won't be much longer though!!!

I couldn't really vote because my girls don't often nap the same amount or at the same time. Arwen usually naps for 1-2 hours over 1 nap. Lorien will often nap 2-3 hours over 2 naps. However, lately she is starting to sort of transition into 1 nap a day but our naps are kind of all over the place right now. Your naps sound pretty normal to me.

I have early nappers - they're up by 6:30 and down for a nap by 10 until around noonish and then up for the rest of the day and have almost always been this way...I'm trying to give them a snack at 10 instead and push the nap until I can feed them lunch at 11:30 and put them down after that...

I've got the nap up to 10:30 and I'm inching closer by 5-10 min a day...

one of mine still takes 2 naps for about 2 hours each. The other one is already trying to switch himself to one nap. Yesterday he took 1 FOUR hour nap! I almost started getting worried! But generally he will take one nap for 3 hours. He usually will go down around 10 am. Nate just isn't ready to switch yet.
