Our girls sleep in their crib at night with their miracle blankets on, but during the day just cat nap on and off. They are usually in their bouncy chairs or a swing. When should I begin trying to put them in their crib at regular times? They are so unpredictable during the day.

I appreciate any input. Thanks, Lisa :)

At that age, mine usually slept between all feedings and werent' awake for more than an hour and a half at a time. They always napped in their bouncy chairs or a swing. We are still working on "regular" times.

Until about 4 months my girls napped where ever, whenever.

Same here and then we just went cold turkey into the crib for morning naps. Worked well.

The books I have read say that predictable naps take shape around 4 months of age. That's what i am seeing with my little ones, although their morning nap fell into place around 3 months. It's up to you whether you want to have them nap in bouncies swings (I still do for my own sanity). In retrospect I wish I would have started naps in cribs earlier b/c it may be a hard transition I think.

We went through a phase where they cat napped (around 6 weeks) but we have been able to establish a better routine now. They nap in between every feeding for about an hour-hour and a half. After we feed I let them play and then take them into the nursery where it is dark and I repeat (About a HUNDRED times) "It's nap time" - I swaddle, read a book quitely, hold them close, lay them down in their crib and turn the mobile on - and they seem to do well! We have about one nap a day that they resist but they do well with the others as long as I keep to the routine.
