i was in the FY reading the sticky section about 8 month old schedules and mine don't look anything like them!

i can't get my LO's to take long naps; they take two 30 min naps and 1 longer nap that can range anywhere between 1-1.5/2 hours.
we do two solids a day with bottles but i was thinking that maybe i shouldn't mix their bottle with their solids?

any thoughts or advice? i want the schedules where kids sleep for 2 hours twice a day, lol!

I don't have any advice for u either, but I do wish I could get my LO's to take long naps too. They take maybe 2 short naps all day!

Do you mind sharing your general routine? Some folks on here have mentioned to have them down for first naps 90 mins-2 hrs after they first wake and no later. That has been key for us and the first nap dictates how the day will go. I love troubleshooting this very subject...it is ever evolving in our house...can you give more detail? For mine also, they need time to have a poopy diaper after their bottle so I give them a few mins before laying down. We also do an additional bottle after the solid meal. Do yours ever wake with a bad diaper? (sorry if TMI)

no dirty diapers before waking up...that has happened once or twice, though.

their schedules look something like this
    8 - wake up
    830 - breakfast
    930/10 - nap (usually for 30 mins)
    11 - next bottle
    12 - nap (usually for 30 mins...sometimes 45-1 hour)
2 - next bottle and their long nap follows shortly after. long nap is about 1 hour - 2 hours. one LO sleeps 2 hours sometimes and the other doesn't do any more than 1 hour.
    5 - dinner
    we keep them up/play, etc.
    730 - bath
    8 - bed

What if you leave them in their cribs instead of going to get them after 30 minutes. Will the fuss, scream?? What about bringing them out and putting them in swings and letting them finish their naps in there? That might lengthen them. What are you doing to try and lengthen them, if anything?

one always wakes up first and fusses; therefore waking the other up.
i rock them back to sleep, too!!! once i put them down they wake right up. i try the swings, too. they just play with the swing part (the poles)...there is no napping going on!

Here is what our schedule looks like

    5.30-6.00 wake up & bottle

    6.45 cereals

    8.00- 8.30 bottle & nap

    10.00- 10.30 wake-up

    11.00 lunch

    12.00 - 12.30 bottle & nap

    14.00 -14.30 wake-up

    16.30 dinner & bath

    18.00 - 18.30 bottle & bed

Sometimes they wake up early from their nap, in which case i usually scoop them up, give them a top-up of milk and rock back to sleep and put them either in their cribs or swings.
