I am having the hardest time coming up with names for my twin girls, due in mid May. So far my husband and I can only agree on Elizabeth "Liz" and Lauren. Do these sounds good together? What does everyone think? My mom seems to hate the name Lauren.
    Thanks for your help!

Hi and welcome to TS :)
I like the name Lauren. Its very pretty :) And besides, you dont need to change your name choice just because your Mum doesnt like it. They are your kids and its you and your husbands choice on what you want to name them. I dont mean it in a bad way but if you love the name then use it, otherwise you might regret not using later just because someone in your family doesnt like it. Besides im sure once your Mum sees your girls shes gonna fall in love with them regardless of their names :)

My name is Lauren and my sisters name is Elisabeth. I think they go together well, maybe because I have always heard them together.

My daughters name is Lauren and her middle name is Elizabeth so I agree that they sound nice together. Her twin sister is Leah.

I love those names - they sound great together. Also if you like those names, then use them, your mum had her chance.

Like you, DH & I started getting push back from our relatives about what names we were going to choose for our girl twins. Everyone had an opinion. So, we adopted a different approach. DH and I have agreed on the names, BUT, we're not telling anyone what the names are. We tell people we are waiting to meet our twins before naming them. We figure, once the girls are born and named, only a reall jerk would say "your baby has a bad name."

(OK. I admit. I spilled the beans on this forum somewhere, but I had to tell someone!!!)

    I agree.
People often comment or ask about names and we just tell them that we're still deciding or simply that we're not telling anyone at all until they're born. That way nobody gets offended.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I think we'll probably go with these names. It feels good to know that others think they sound good together!!
