DH and I have definitely agreed on Lucy Joy for one of our girls.

Originally I had like Madelyn Grace for the other girl...(our son is Henry Luke)...

My grandpa just passed away 2 weeks ago, and in his final weeks, all he talked about was meeting our girls. :(

I think it would be fun to maybe have a first or middle name that has his name in it...which was Joe. Anyone have any ideas?

(In case you didn't notice, I had originally intended on having some biblical name/attribute as each child's middle name, and while I love that idea, I can part with it to honor my grandfather).

"Jo" is a great middle name for girls, very versatile.

In my family there are a Kathy Jo, Linda Jo, Amy Jo, Tashina Jo and Wendy Jo. (Linda married in, so it was just a coincidence that her middle name was Jo.) Pretty much any two-syllable girl name, especially if it ends with a "y," sounds good with Jo.

Strictly speaking, as a shortening of "Josephine," which is a feminine version of "Joseph," it does have a Biblical background.

I thought of Anna Jo, since Anna would still be biblical.
BTW, I love the name Joy, We call one of my girls Ella Joy. (I love the country double name thing)

If you wanted to keep Madelyn (beautiful choice BTW ;) ) you could do Madelyn Jolee

Or you could do Josephine Grace and call her Joey

Lucy and Joey sound cute together!

    GOOD LUCK!

Joanne or Joanna...sounds nice with Lucy. And Jo is a natural short form.

Josie is also nice and simple. Or use Joyce--a little old-fashioned, but coming back into style.

One thing I heard, is to picture the name written on a business card. If it works there, it will work from babyhood to adulthood.

    Enjoy!

    How about Joanna ;)

It is a biblical name. Joanna was one of the women who discovered the empty tomb after Jesus rose and went to tell the disciples.
