Name help

Okay, we are set on Jack and Lily -

Jackson David and Lily ?

We cannot rest on a middle name for Lily. Neither of us care too too much and are willing to give in; however,

I prefer Lily Mae and DH prefers Lily Marie. Our last name is Schroeder.

Any other suggestions that go well with Lily?

Okay,
I love old fashioned names (see my sig and ticker), but personally May/Mae strikes a bad nerve with me. When I hear it I think of a Jersey Cow named Bessy Mae, also a friend had a nanny named Freddie May; this name just doesn't work for me. Had to also be honest when my best friend and roommate from college was going to bestow Callie Mae on her 2nd born daughter. She ended up going with Callie Laurel and she thanked me for being totally honest!

So, please don't think I'm being rude, I love the name Lily; but Mae doesn't work for me. I am much in favor of your DH's Lily Marie!

I like Lily Marie. If our twins are b/g we are naming them Logan Wills and Lillian Marie

 

I have always LOVED Lily Ann. I think I prefer Lily Marie over Lily Mae for some of the same reasons.

 

I don't know what I am having yet but if there is a girl in there we have chose Lilly Paige & Kendal Rae. I have liked the name Lilly for a long time and I know it is hard to find middle names.

 

Thank you for all of your input! You girls are right about Mae - seeing it written looked really funny.

I originally liked May (after a character in the book The Secret Life of the Bees) but my DH really does not like the May spelling and I think Marie probably is better. btw I always loved Lily Ann but DH has vetoed it for some reason. Lily Marie it is - THANKS!!!

I love Lily Mae too!!! Mae is my niece's name and she gets compliments on her name all the time.

 

I personally like Mae and Marie...however I know of a little girl at my son's preschool thats name is Lilly Laine and I loved it as soon as I heard it . Just another idea!

 

How about Lillian instead of Lily to go with Jackson?

Since Jack will formally be Jackson, I also think Lily should have Lilian as her formal name.

I love Lilian Reece, or Lilian Grace.
