I've posted on here before, but we've decided on Lucy Joy for Baby A...Baby B is also a girl...

I'd like to use the name Mary as a middle name for Baby B...but I can't seem to think of a first name that really flows with Mary and that doesn't sound too hokey when I introduce the girls together...for example, I couldn't name Baby B Mary as a first name because saying "This is Lucy and Mary" sounds just a bit too old fashioned (and I LIKE old fashioned)...they kind of rhyme with the Y ending and I'm not into that...but anything I've tried to pair Mary with doesn't really sound right...any ideas???

ITA with the 2 "e" sounds. We didn't want that either. I also really like the old fashioned names. How about Lucy and Elizabeth Mary?

ETA - okay maybe that sounds too Little House on the Prairie-ish. Mary is a hard name to have as a middle name! Is it a family name or you just like it?

Mary IS a really hard name to use as a middle name! It doesnt seem to flow with the other names!!! It is a family name...we don't HAVE to use it, but it would be nice...although unless someone on here has some brilliant idea, we may end up not using it!

And yes, the Little House on the Prairie issue...I love the name Lucy (and we are sticking with that), but it can make the second name pairing sound a bit cheesy...

I wanted to use Marie as a middle name (it's a family name -- unfortunately DH nixed it). Because it has the emphasis on the second syllable, I thought it went really well with a lot of first names. Would that be a possibility, if you're having trouble fitting something with Mary?

If you do want to stick with Mary, how about something with 3 syllables -- Allison Mary? Isabelle Mary?

    Annalisse Mary
    Gracelynn Mary
    Leanna Mary
    Madaline Mary
    Natasha Mary
    Allyson Mary
    Tresa Mary
    Gwendolyn Mary

I think you need a longer 3 syllable name to make it flow well.

My favs are Gracelynn Mary and Madeline Mary

But doesn't Madeline Mary sound too much like Mary Magdalene??? I mean, I know it's backwards, but that's the first thing I think of!

Wow, Hope Mary is lovely (and ties in with Lucy Joy). I assume you won't use the second names every day? In which case the combination of the first and last names becomes the most important.

Cassandra Mary (Cassie and Lucy? or is that too cute)
    Stephanie Mary
    Alana Mary
    Janice Mary

What a challenge! Ok, Merry is a family name for us, but obviously spelled different. The first name was Merry Patience, then one of my cousins is named Meredith and her nickname is Merry. Anyway, Meredith might be an easier middle name or even a first name. Also I don't know if it helps any, but for some reason Molly is a nickname for Mary. It might be just as hard to use as a middle name, but it's a thought.

What about Anne? Anne Mary. I know it's close to Anne Marie, but there's no harm in that, is there?

Ok, maybe I'm no help :D

    How about

    Katherine (or Catherine) Mary
Elizabeth Mary (you could call her Libby)
    Elena Mary
    Erin Mary
    Ava Mary
    Ella Mary
    Emma Mary
    Bridget Mary

I really like Madeline Mary. I love the double M (as long as your last name doesn't also start with M). I also think with the middle name Mary, that the first name really should be 3 syllables to flow the best. I know you said you like old fashioned....my aunt's name is Mary Margaret, and I think it's adorable.

 I don't think it's too close to Mary Magdalene, I really like it! But if that's what it makes you think of then you shouldn't use it.

I really like Leanna Mary and Gwendolyn Mary too!
