Ok, this really isn't twin related at all but I was wondering if anyone had second thoughts about their childs name and thought about or actually changed it on thier birth cert. My daughters name is Sara Isabella, Sara is a family name and I really want her to be Sara Bella or just Bella but we get Isabella a lot since my husbands family calls her mostly Bella.

I know this sounds a little crazy but the babies came so early that I really hadn't had a chance to think this through as much as I would have liked.

My mother named my youngest sister Darcy when she was born.

Two months later her name became (and remains) Brianna.

It's funny that you post this. My twin girls both go by their middle names. I knew it would be a PIA b/c my dh goes by his middle name as well. Lately, I've been thinking of switching their first & middle names. Basically, they would still be called the same names, but have different initials. I doubt I'll ever actually do it, but I have been thinking about it.
Let us know what you do!

I would just call her Bella and so will everyone else. Leave her BC as Sara Isabella and then she will always have lots of options as she grows up and wants to be called different things. She might decide as an adult that she wants to be Sara or Isabella. Mine all have pretty formal names and go by their full names right now, but I imagine that as they get older I will start hearing more Cate, Drew, etc. when they are in school.

Personally, I'd just leave it. Both my mom and cousin go by their middle names. My cousin has used her middle name since birth but my mom didn't start using her middle name until her 20s. You can call her whatever you like and the full formal name will give her more options when she gets older. She can always change it herself when she's an adult if she wants.

My friend is actually doing this now. Her mom named her Jennifer in case she wanted the full name when she grew up, but always called her Jennie. At age 30, she's now officially changing it to Jennie. But her mom left the decision to her.

BTW, I think Sara Bella is an adorable name!!!

I'd just leave it alone. I think the name is beautiful the way it is. The first thing I thought of was what if she gets called cerebellum which is the part of the brain. When I named my twins.....I was always thinking of how someone could make fun of their name. I guess it's because I have a name that others made fun of all my life.

I am not trying to offend in anyway...just trying to be helpful.
