My Update

So, I had my doctor's appt today. I am sad to say that one of the triplet's is no longer with it. The baby was measuring about a week behind ... so something happened last week ... prior to the bleeding. The doc couldn't see anything that she thinks would have caused the bleeding, so really no answers there.

The good news is that the two other ones are doing great, measuring in (if not slightly ahead) of schedule ... so we are excited and focusing on the two little beans that are still growing strong ...

Erica, I am sorry to hear about the loss. I will be praying for you, your sis and her husband. I think what you are doing is so wonderful, your sister's twins have an AWESOME auntie. Glad to hear the two are going strong and praying for the remainder of your pregnancy to be uneventful.

I am sorry to hear you lost one of the triplets. I saw your status on FB, and immediatly came here. It truely has to be bittersweet. I know there are no words that can comfort. How is your sister and brother-in-law handling it? You are all in my thoughts, and I send positive vibes that the two healthy babies remain this way. Hugs!

P.S. I just read your blog. Are you going to let us all know what the sex of each baby is?!

Thanks for all the love, guys. My sister is ok. She is trying to just be excited about the two that are still with us ... and yes, we did do a CVS, so she knows that she is having a boy and a girl!!! So that makes things really nice! And gave her something to be excited about!! She opted not to find out the sex of the baby that didn't make it, as she thought it would be too hard ...

So, I think I will be the Aunt of either a Kylie or a Samantha, and a Nicholas or an Anthony.

But it's so early, I wouldn't be surprised if all the names changed!

She was going to name the girl after me, but I told her that wasn't necessary. I don't even like my name all that much ... but the sentiment was sweet!

So, we are taking it one day at a time. Of course, for both of us I think the unspoken fear is that something will happen to one of the others ... but what can we do?? Nothing ... just enjoy every moment, and hope for the best!

 

Erica, I just noticed your ticker in the Den and immediately came here to find an update. I'm so sorry for the loss. Great news about the other two though! You are such an amazing woman to be doing this for your sister. She and her DH are so lucky to have you. How are her treatments going? I've been thinking about you all.

Having never done CVS, can you answer a question? How do you do it? Vaginally? Is it difficult and lengthy considering they have to check 3 placentas? I can't even imagine trying to make sure which you are sampling. Maybe it is easy early in the pregnancy? I saw that you mentioned spotting. Was this a result of the CVS? Maybe it's one of those unknowns. They must turn the results around quickly if you already know it's a boy/girl! I don't even remember this procedure being discussed with me when I was pregnant and that was only 7 years ago. Seems like it would be better than the amnio I got! Ouch.
