My twins have arrived!

On Monday April 23, 2007 i went in for my induction at 6:30am. They started all the meds and at 6:20pm Abigail Cai was born 6lbs6oz, then things got crazy After Abby came out Baby B had cord prolapse, and the harder i tried to push him out (the docs said lets see if we can get him out fast) everytime i pushed it would cut off his air supply due to his head pushing onto his cord. So next thingi know i am getting a maskon, a nurse jumps in the bed with me and has her hand "down there" holding his head off his cord. So i get rushed down to the operating room, get put to sleep ( my Epi didnt work- only numbed the right side of my body) and at 6:42pm Christopher Aiden was born 5lbs 15oz. They r both healthy, passed all thier tests and came home with me 3 days later
I on the other hand lost alot of blood during the emergency c-section and so i was being watched for the necessaty of a blood transfusion or not So i had both births, a vaginal - to which i felt it all, and c-section. I am slowly recovering, and am having some swelling issues on my ankles and feet, but other than that we are all doing great now. Here are some pics of my beautiful twinkies.

Beautiful babies, adorable! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your story/pics. It must have been like a movie with the nurse jumping in the bed and holding the baby while they wheeled u in the operating room. Glad to know things went well and you and the babies are doing ok.

Yikes, that delivery sounds really rough.....hope your recovery continues to go as smoothly as possible.

 

Sorry you had a double whammy...but thank God that they were able to move quickly so that baby B could be born healthy! congratulations! You did a great job!!

 

Congratulations! Sorry to hear about the scare with Baby B but glad all is well. I had a best of both worlds delivery also (also was put under for my c-section) and also had swelling after delivery. I did not have any before at all, just after. What really helped me was to put some pillows under my mattress where my feet go at night. The swelling did come back during the day but it helped to start the day off with no swelling. Don't forget to take care of yourself!

 

Congratulations on the birth of your babies!!!! I also had the full birth experience. Our dd was delivered vaginally and son by c-section. His cord prolapsed and the doctor tried very hard to move it around his head, but couldn't. I was then placed down to have the c-section. The recovery for me was challenging but noticed improvement daily. I really hope your recovery goes well.

Congratulations on the birth of your twinkies! And if it makes you feel any better, I too had TONS of swelling afterwards (none before) but it goes away after a week or so!
