My twins have arrived!

Just jumping on quick to say that I had my lovely twin babies on Fri Jan 7th (born 33 wks, 5 days) at 7:37pm and 7:44pm. London arrived first with 2 pushes, followed 7 minutes later by her brother Liam. Both were born vaginally.

London weighed 4 lbs, 1 oz and Liam was 4lbs, 5.6 oz

Liam had difficulties w breathing and was transferred to a level III NICU which is 1.5 hours from my house. He stabilized within 24 hrs. They have said he could come back to the level II nursery to be with his sister but there is no available beds for him yet

London is doing great. She will stay in the level II nursery where we delivered (1/2 hour from my house) as a "grower/feeder". They expect both babies will be in hosp for a while until they can suck, take a bottle or breast, and gain weight. Right now they are fed by gavache feeds.

As most of you all know, life with preemies is definitely an emotional roller coaster. One minute we are told that both are stable and well, the next one of them is not doing so well. It's been very hard.

I am pumping like crazy and driving all over to bring them both milk and to see them. As well as trying to spend time at home with my DD, who turns 2 next month.

 

Congrats on the birth of your babies! I pray their NICU stay will be shorter than expected and they get big and healthy quickly. Sounds like labor/delivery went seamlessly. That is awesome. Hope you can post some pics of your new little ones soon!
