    Couple of options:

*Put the syringe far back in the inside of their cheek. Then, squeeze their cheeks until they have swallow the liquid.

*Add it with a bit of EBM (or formula) into just a nipple or a small medicine bottle (we got some of these in the NICU).

*Don't squeeze the entire dose in at once...give it to them in 2 or 3 small squirts.

    HTH Good Luck.

    Hi there,

I asked the same question to my local Mother of Twins org forum and along with the strategies listed in the pp, many moms have the suspension flavored by the pharmacy to help with the taste. I never did this, cause mine dealt with the flavor fine, but it may help some.

    Good luck.

Mine also disliked the taste. The first bottle we had flavored with grape and it tasted worse. My husband tried it before and after. We started giving a little bit to them and then sticking a paci or the bottle in their mouths . . . they would automatically suck. This was all that worked for us. Good luck!

Here's some wonderful advice I got from TS when we were on Zantac...Gabe HATED it. First, measure it out and then try putting it in an empty bottle nipple (not attached to a bottle). They suck on the nipple first thing in the morning and are so hungry that by the time the zantac gets down and they taste it, they've actually taken all of it. I used to also put in in about an 1/2 - 1 oz. of EBM (or formula if you formuala feed) and he'd drink that and then I'd give him the rest of his bottle. The nipple thing worked really well for us. I wouldn't like the taste of that stuff either!!

When my son was smaller he didn't like the taste so I would put a little bit of formula in an empty bottle nipple, then squirt the zantac into the nipple and put the whole thing into his mouth. He'd eat it up, just make sure you do it when they are hungry (right before a feed). Now he takes it from the empty bottle nipple without any formula mixed in.

I don't know if you are breast or bottle-feeding, but to get my DD to take her Prilosec we bought a Medibottle. She never even knows she is getting meds and we know she gets the total amount needed. To find one, just type in Medibottle in your search engine and sites pop up that sell them. HTH!!!! [IMG]

Good luck! My two didn't like it either. Be careful about adding it to anything. THey might develop an adversion to whatever you are mixing it with.
