my twins arrived (loss mentioned)

Willow and Rowan arrived on 8-10-09 at 29 weeks. Willow was 2lbs 8oz at 4:00p and Rowan was 1lb 3oz at 4:01p. Both girls were intubated and taken straight to the NICU. Overnight they were doing amazing! Both girls were extubated and placed on CPAP. Tuesday night we got a call come to the NICU right away. Rowan's lungs had filled with blood and she could no longer breathe on her own. The put her on an oscillator and she did better. The next day we spend all day with her, talking to her and holding her little hands. She was doing ok until later in the evening. Her oxygen kept dipping lower and lower and they could not bring it up. Her chest xray showed her lungs just could not handle the stress and were failing. We decided to to just spend as much as time with her as possible. We called our family to come in and see her for the last time. Rowan passed away Wednesday night around 8:45p. Her sister is doing well, having a little bit of a hard time struggling with her breathing but all her blood gases and x-rays look good. Tomorrow I say my final goodbye to Rowan, we are holding a memorial service for our baby in hopes that it will bring closure to all those affected. For only being on the earth for 2 days she made a giant impact on a lot of lives.

Oh Jennifer, I was so saddened to see your post. I know you had issues with IUGR same as me and I was hoping for a wonderful outcome for you.
