Don't know your opinion on formula, but what I do, is giving them a few bottles of soy formula instead of dairy and that pretty much gets it going. It was first recommended by my ped with my dd (who stayed on soy also because of spit up issues), and I've already did it with the twins, especially my girl who had more issues.

Have you tried gas drops? My SIL suggested to try them when mine were also having pooping problems. They worked great for them just be prepared for ALOT of poop. Mine filled like 3 diapers witin a couple hours after giving them the drops the first time. By the way I used the store brand instead of the Mylicon IMO its the same thing just 1/3 of the price.

    Hope that helps.

That't right, you are breastfeeding! Breastfed babies are rarely constipated. My daughter used to go every 4-5 days. Then it is an explosion!! BF babies can go up to a week with no poop and it is not a problem.

    Ditto.

I read that once a week is normal for BF babes.

If they don't seem to be in any pain, I'm not sure what the problem is. My boys are almost 5 months old and go several days without pooping.

A good stint in the exersaucer is known to bring on a big poop though! Right up the back all the way to their necks.

My pedi always said that breastfed babies could go a week without pooping and it was normal. But Grace used to get unhappy once she went that long, so we had to use suppositories a couple times. Nowadays we give her a tablespoon of prune juice every morning in her bottle, which keeps her regular. But I'd ask your pedi before doing any of this.
