My twins are here

    We had our twins last week (Monday Sept 7th - Labor Day). They were born at 37w1d by scheduled c/s. Baby A is Irelyn Joy, she weighed 7lbs 2oz and was 19 3/4 inches and Baby B is Juliette Faye, she weighed 7lbs 4oz and was 19 1/2 inches. I'm amazed at how big they were (I'm only 4'11" so that was a ton of baby for me). Both were born without complications and with no NICU time. So far things are going pretty good. The girls had a little bit of jaundice and had to be on bili lights here at home for the first two days and we had some latch issues that we're still working on but nursing is going better than it was last week. Hopefully by their due date all our nursing difficulties will have resolved themselves (the LC at the hospital said sometimes their tongues aren't long enough to nurse effectively until they're 40 weeks). My dh goes back to work on Monday so I'm a little nervous about having him gone and having our five other children to take care of in addition to the twins but I'm just going to take everything one day at a time until we get a groove going.
