I have a humidifier in their room, mattresses elevated adn I've been aspirating them...any other suggestions? i'm home alone this week too -- so convenient for DH.

I do all of the above and I put Vicks Vapor Rub on their feet to help with the cough at night. Seems to work well at night.

ETA: You can also take them into a steamy bathroom for 15-20 mins before bed.

Not too much more to add than what has been said...I also use saline drops in their noses. Our doctor also said to try and give them a few sips of water to loosen the mucus in their throat and help it come out when they cough.

When my boys had their bad colds we did the humidifier, elevating beds, vicks and the steamy bathroom did wonders! Our pedi also suggested warming a bit of apple juice and letting them sip that since it isn't as thick as ebm or formula. I'm not sure how much it helped but the boys really seemed to like getting something a little different.

same here, saline drops and aspirator were the most important ones we used, because the kids would have a hard time drink their bottle if the nose is closed up.
also vicks baby rub, steamy bath room, humidifiers in room and lots of aquaphor around their nose and mouth, the noses will run constantly and that way I kept their skin somewhat protected.

they would get very clingy as well so be prepared in always holding one or the other....

I would only use very soft kleenex to wipe their noses, because of the germs.

I can't add any more then the recommendations that were already given to you. We also used the Pedia Vapors (it comes with a night light and menthol pads) and they also helped in addition to the humidifier, elevated mattress, saline drops, nasal aspirator and vapor rub. I hope they feel better soon!
