Okay so I got a few twin comments yesterday, one of which I have never heard before! 1st we went to the bank to Refy our house and a secretary there (a young gal) says,"Oh, twins how cute!! I am a twin. Are they ID?" I say No and she says,"Are you sure they look alot alike to me?? But my sis and I are Frats and people are always mixing us up too." Then she showed me a pic of her sis who I would say was an ID twin but I could def. see the differences too, but I kept my opinion to myself! LOL Then we go to Lowes to get gutters for our house and one of the checkout ladies (in her mid40s) was over admiring my brood (had all five kids with us!!) and she is making faces at Alyssa and on and on and then she says, "what is the age difference between these two, one year?" and I was like "WHAT, no they are twins"... I was so confused!! :p She points at the twinks and says "These two are twins??" very sarcasticly... Okay I dont think they look alike but the last person who saw them thought they were ID and now one doesnt even believe me that they are twins!! HAHAHA.... and they were dressed ID too!! That was the craziest one I have ever heard, they may be frat but you can tell they are twins... they are the same flippin' size! Then came the NICEST thing I have ever heard. We went to Applebees for supper and the babies were being a little loud and the kids were squirmy but all in all they were very well behaved (most of the day actually) Well we just get our food and DH and I are trying to get A and A interested in their Grilled Cheese and a lady walks over and says "Oh twins...." and I am thinking "Lady can you not see we are trying to feed five children and get out of here, grr..." and she says "I love twins they just facinate me! My daughter had twins but they are 23 now, so everytime I see twin babies I just have to come and admire them! Oh they are beautiful and so well behaved..." and she went on and on!! I about cried she was so nice and then kicked myself for being so grumpy in my head :p she just made my day!!

    Thanks for letting me share!!!

Thanks for sharing! I love when people have nice things to say... it is a lot better than all of the "you must have your hands full!" and "better you than me!" (which I agree to!)

I get more happy smiles and winks from people than I do negative comments.

    Gotta love it!

I've had someone not believe me that they were twins, too....... b/c ds was walking around & dd was still crawling. I heard her mutter to her friend about being "so different developmentally", which made me mad. I definitely like the nice comments better! I met an elderly woman at the mall one time who came over to see the kids b/c she had twins. She said hers were 50 now!

I get the same kind of comments...One minute someone will be asking if they are identical and the next minute someone else will ask if they are a year apart.... The thing is, I can see someone asking their age difference because the bigger twin is 2.5 inches taller and four pounds heavier than his brother. Oh well.

I understand completely! I have ID twins and some people will say, "Wow they look exactly the same" while others ask me how old each are! DUH!! People are fascinated with multiples, but so many of them say the dumbest things! "Are they twins?" is my favorite question, followed by "Can you tell them apart?"! Most people are very nice but I don't think they put much thought into their questions!

Briana all i can say is that i admire you for going out to eat with FIVE kids! I know that i am just barely hanging on with my two - i've decided that until they are bigger I just can't take them out alone -those scary restaurant high chairs that don't have any belts so the twinks twist themselves out of them.....ack, my blood pressure is rising just to think about it!

i met TWO twin moms yesterday - one told me that hers were 45 and the other that hers were 34. It's nice to feel like part of the 'club' with older women - who really get it. But the stupid questions still blow my mind. I mean, yes, i know everyone is fascinated by multiples (how many times have we all heard 'oh, i wanted twins!" - and i just want to say 'well, why don't you come on over at, say 6 pm, or 4 am for ten days running and THEN see how you feel!!), but - i am still amazed by people who ask the obvious, or who don't recognize that we're tired, harrassed Mama's trying to herd two curious creatures and maybe even get a few errands completed TODAY before meltdown time.

    Ok, i'm off my horse!
