Ok ladies, what can I take with being pregnant for my sore throat and my stuffy sinuses? I was up half of last night just coughing b/c I coudln't get the tickle out of my throat.

In the past, the one thing that always makes the tickle go away is sipping like half a shot of liquer. Make the tingly throat feeling go away. Well, that obviously out of the question right now.

What can I take? I cant' remember what acceptable during pregnancy and not.

Mine approved Bendadryl... but it makes me so sleepy!

I've had the cold for a week now... it was fine until it developed into my eyes! They were watering and swollen shut... today is much better though :)

I hope you get to feeling better soon. :hug99:

Yeah, I agree that Benadryl is probably the safest thing for you to take. It just stinks that sleepyness is the main side effect, I'm sure your sleepy enough these days.

First trimester I had the same thing. Saline nose drops and tylenol was all they said I could take. Yuck.

Thanks ladies, unfortunately none of that stuff will help my throat. It's so sore tonight that I can barely swallow...I can feel it clear up into my ears. UGH! Gotta love it! I will have to ask the OB nurse tomorrow when I go for my first apt. Starbucks frappacino helped a bit tonight though, but now it's gone :(

I thought the only thing u could take woz tylenol. Maybe it will help a "little" bit with the throat. If u are allowed benadryl then at least u may get some sleep tonite.

    Hope ur feeling better soon.

I have found sucking a Halls drop to help my throat.

My OB approved all of the tylenol cold products and straight sudafed.

Can you take Chloreseptic lozenges? They are the only thing I have ever tried that truly takes the edge off. Also I boil a chicken boullion cube with water and sip that. I have a vicks vaporizer with that oily solution and that helps. Wonder if that is safe while pregnant? I would think so.

My mom used to make me gargle with hot salt water. It would do the trick everytime. I hope you start feeling better soon.

My doctor approved of sudafed, but nothing non-drowsy... I usually drink hot tea when I have a sore throat, it works the best for me to get rid of the tickle!

    good luck
