My thoughts on mesh feeders

I really hadn't planned on using mesh feeders because they seemed so messy, but one came with the food mill I bought, so I tried it anyway. It was the Munchkin feeder and it was fine for ice cubes, but after we used actual food in them they were horrible. I could not get them clean. Fortunately I only had one because I ended up just throwing it away. Then I saw a different mesh feeder somewhere and it looked better, so I bought it. I honestly can't remember where I got them, but they came in a pack of two and had two extra mesh bags. The website on the package is www.babysafefeeder.com. Anyway, they are GREAT! The girls love them. I used them for pears this morning and again this afternoon with pieces of Honey Crisp apples. The pears were messy because they were really ripe, but I through them in some water until I could get back to them to clean them (the girls needed a bath first). I rinsed them well and threw them in the dishwasher and they came out perfectly clean. It kept the girls busy for a LONG time. :) Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience in case some of you were hesitant or had a bad experience with the Munchkin feeder. Here are pics from the apples we had a bit ago:

Thanks for sharing! I have a mesh feeder but was not sure if I wanted to use it. You inspired me! I have no idea what the brand is but if I find I can't clean them then I will order from that website.

Good grief. I just reread my original post and my grammar was terrible. I'm so sorry. I was trying to post and do three other things at the same time. I know the difference between singular and plural and also that it should have been threw, not through. Ack!

Mine are a little hard to clean I have to admit - but the babies love them so much that I have to keep using them. Pears and grapes are their favorite foods in them. And grapes are so easy to clean up, pears are a little more messy, but still well worth it. Not sure what brand I have, but I just buy new ones every month or so. I figure they will only use them for a few more months and they love them and they keep them busy when we are out and about and get fussy.
