My story

I figured I would share my story with all of you! I am 23 and a full time college student. I was taking the pill then in April I took an anti-biotic and that's the beginning of the end! I felt really weird in May, asked my OB and he said everything was fine. In June I hadn't had a period since May 18th and even then it was only 2 days, which is not normal for me, especially on the pill. He said it was the way the pill was interacting with my system. So I believed him even though I really didn't feel right.

On July 6th I took a pregnancy test at home and it was positive before I could even finish peeing!! So I went to see him at the end of that week and he did an internal and there was a sac!

I left that doctor and being going to a birth center with midwives. I LOVED them. It was such an awesome experience. At my 16 week appointment she said I was measuring a little bigger, more like 20 weeks. She said maybe my due date was off or I had a floating uterus. So my wandering mind asked if maybe it could be two? She said sure there's a possibility, but not likely. So she sent me for an ultrasound that day.

Sure enough there were two babies in there!! Baby B was directly behind baby A, which is the reason why we never heard two heart beats. The ultrasound tech put the wand on my stomach and said there was just one baby, I had a sigh of relief. Then she said "oh that little bugger" and I was like what are you talking about?!?! When she turned the wand and got a side view, she saw baby B! The babies at that point were measure 14 weeks roughly. Which put me back 2 weeks.

I had an ultrasound at 17 weeks because I panicked and hadn't felt anything for a day and that's when we learned they share a placenta and were in different sacs. The tech said she thought there were penis' but couldn't say 100% so she wouldn't confirm it. But I've felt all along it was two boys so I'm pretty sure it is!

I go for my level 2 ultrasound on monday, I'll be 19 weeks and we should be able to get a confirmation on the sexes. But at both ultrasounds they were moving around and growing at the same rate! Oh and their heart beats are 159 and 164 at every appt so far!!

So that's my story, I hope you enjoyed it!

Well, sometimes God, the fates, or whatever you call "it" just demands their own way. Congrads. My girlfriends first child with her husband was the same thing, anti-biotics. Her second child with her husband was because she had been on the same pill for almost 5 years. Her doc said that every 3-5 years a women should switch the pill they are on becasue our bodies can get use to it and no longer work. My twins are a result of the plan B / morning after pill. Isn't it crazy? To tell the truth, now I am glad it did not work. I am so excited for 2 more babies in our home! Good luck!

Yep finding out u are having twins is a big surprise. I mean if you have done IVF or other fertility things then you almost expect it, but for me I was in shock!!!!
It was not something I was prepared for being 26, already having one child, just finishing school and still trying to get a decent job......
One was hitting me hard enough but 2? wow!
But I am excited and know it will work. Good luck!!!!

Thanks everyone!! I am so thrilled and feel blessed to be carrying twins. I was shocked when it was twins, but I think finding out I was pregnant was more of a shock. I figured since my life is changing, may as well REALLY change!!! I find out some more information today (and hopefully the sexes)!!
