My PRECIOUS Babies are here!

Just wanted to post a quick birth story...no time for a long one!

Seth Joshua and Hannah Bailey were born on Tuesday May 19th at 38 weeks exactly! I went in to get induced at 7 am. They started the pitocin and a few hours later I was about 5 cm dialated so they broke my water. The pain was getting bad at this point so I got the epidural. This made me really sleepy for some reason so I relaxed and by around 4 pm I was complete. I was moved to the OR to start pushing and this is when the problems started. Baby b "Hannah" did not like it and her heart rate started dropping. Baby A "Seth" was sunny side up so it was taking longer to get him out...so it was decided that I needed to have a c-section. At this point things bacame very blurry due to everything happening so fast. I really don't remember but from what my husband has told me they made him leave the room to get set-up and he never got to come back in because I was not numb enough from the epidural and started screaming when the made the incision. A nurse came out to tell him that they needed to put me to sleep because the babies needed to be born ASAP! So I don't remember the rest of that day but in the end it was all worth it. I am doing fine and the babies are healthy.

Seth was born at 4:53 weighing 6lbs. 6oz. and Hannah at 4:54 weighing 4lbs. 14oz., Hannah spent 4 hours in the NICU due to low blood sugars and temparature issues. We all came home together 3 days later! They are beautiful and I just LOVE them so much!!!

Congratulations! I'm glad your team was quick thinking but sorry you had to go through all of that... 2 healthy babies sure are worth it though!

Sorry about c-section but the good part that babies are safe
and I read a lot of story when epidural doesn't work properly for c-section. the same happened to my friend and she had c-section under general as well. Everytime I read something like this I am more open to schedule c-section with spinal.

It really stinks that you had to have be put out completely.. I had to be put under as well and it really wasn't the way that i had wanted things to play out but like you said well worth it for the babies..
