I know some of you might say I"m crazy but I'm really wanting to get my belly flat as soon as possible. I'm almost obsessed with it. :(

    I'm 8 weeks post partum.

I work out every day with just about 7lbs to lose.

I have a tiny little pouchy (with skinny arms and legs) so I still look early pregnant.

My 8 year old neice came by yesterday and said "you still look pregnant". :( Ugh!

I gained about 55lbs (mostly fluid) and lost about 50 of it during the first 3 weeks. I have no stretch marks rather some wrinkly weird skin around the perimeter of my belly button. My button is black with a huge line going up my belly. When I stand up straight I don't have any loose skin but when I lean over it's a little over my pants.

How can I get this to tighten up???

I know it's only 2 months and my friends say I'm nuts considering I carried twins but I cannot help it...I really want my body back..at least get rid of the pouch and pray the loose skin tightens up.

Anyone here have loose skin and then it gradually tightened so it's not out over your pants???

(pre preggy i was 135lbs at 5'8" tall. i gained 55lbs and had no stretch marks)

Well, I would say it gets better, but for me anyway, it hasn't gone completely away. I have no stretch marks & like you gained about 55 or 60 pounds, weighed about 130 before I got pregnant. I've lost all but about 5 pounds of the weight at this point & I still have the loose skin. Twin skin as we call it. My doctor told me surgery would be the only thing that would correct it. Sorry, I know that isn't what you wanted to hear, maybe someone else will have a more positive experience for you.

I was 95lbs when I got pregnant the perfect flat belly. I gained about 55lb pounds during prengnancy and now I am probably back to 92-95lbs. I lost the weight right away, I think the nursing really helped. I have tons of strech marks :( They are more noticable to me than others. The skin has shrunk over time, but I do not think that it will ever be tight like it was and I do not think my belly button will ever be the same. I think a twin pregnancy especially if you carry fulterm does a lot to your body and streches your skin out. When I stand up my skin is pretty much flat, but the same thing when I stand over it hangs a little. You can't tell that I had kids with clothes on, everyone says how tiny and skinny I am, however no one other than my husband has seen me naked :). I think the binki days are over though. Although I still dream big and can't believe it is my stomach when I look in the mirror. My doctor said that same thing and the only thing that will tighten the skin back to what it was before is a tummy tuck. Hope your shrinks back and you have better luck since it is really hard adjusting to the new body. I just wish I appreciated what I had before hand more so.

I'm in the same boat. Flat belly when I stand up straight, poochy skin when I bend over or slouch.

Nothing seems to work. i've tried creams and lotions with no luck. Tummy tuck seems to be the only real solution.

I avoid tight or short shirts. Not something I want everyone to see! My DH makes me feel beautiful and I'm not trying to impress anyone else but him!

I was a health pre-pregnancy weight and despite gaining only 30 pounds, and leaving the hospital 50 pounds lighter than when I delivered, I still have a belly. I was in the hospital for 2.5 months though... Anyways, my skin will not tighten up no matter what I do, so I have had to stop worrying about it. I guess the days of bikinis are behind me! I am certain at 9.5 months post-partum, that my twin skin is here to stay and I'm trying to make peace with it. I hope you don't have this same experience but obsessing over it won't change what your body will do naturally with the extra skin. Perhaps a good spanx will help, it did for me, if not physically, psychologically, to not see the pouch of skin.

I have heard that your skin will continue to tighten back over the course of a year. It may just take time or it maybe that the skin just stays loose.

Pre-pregnancy I weighed 108 and had a six pack. Now I'm 118 and have a kegger. Even if I lost that last 10 pounds I'd still have a pooch. It seems like it takes a LOOOOOONG time for your belly to snap back. Good luck, and don't get discouraged if it doesn't go flat for a while.

I say count yourself lucky! Seriously, no stretch marks??? I am 5' 3" and pre pregnancy weighed 115. My stomach was perfectly flat. Now I weigh 120, I have horrible twin skin (it's all wrinkly, and I can grab handfuls of it, even standing up) my stomach is basically one giant stretch mark, and I have a four finger muscle seperation. I look in the mirror and still can't belive it's me I'm looking at. If your skin only hangs over when you bend over, then it will probably tighten enough so that it isn't obvious. You probably wont ever have the taunt skin you had before, but it could be worse... you could look like me!

Pre prego I was 118lbs and I gained 72 lbs. It took about 3 months to be able to fit into my jeans again, but I still have the 'stretched skin'. I too got the dark [almost black] belly button and the thick line. The line 'mostly' went away around 6 months. I am currently at 118-120 lbs and the more I work out, I see my waist line getting smaller [barely], but this stretched skin isn't going anywhere - without the help of a surgeon anyway, lol [IMG]

It will get better through time. And I would consider yourself lucky with not getting stretch marks and carrying twins! [IMG]

It always helps to drink pleanty of water - esspecially during these summer months. Very important and good for you!

How you described your belly sounds about how mine was after my first two babies. Both times my skin got almost back to normal about 2 years post partum (although it was quite a bit better at one year)...just in time to get preggers again. ;) After the twins I think it's a lost cause. I'm just going to start my tummy tuck fund. Good luck to you though!

I was at my heaviest pre-pregnancy and gained only 26lbs. When I left the hospital I was 30lbs lighter and I am currently 20lbs lighter than when I started. Great for me, I'm almost back to my pre-marriage weight or what I like to refer to as my "comfortable weight". But I still have a belly and the pig nose belly button. Right now I am just happy to be back to a decent weight, but no bikinis in my future. But next summer is a different story.

Something that helps with the black belly button is to lotion your stomach, and then rub your belly button with a Q-tip. I got all the black off my belly button doing that, and most of the dark line.

I am 7 months postpartum. I gained 35 lbs. during my pregnancy. I have 8-10 pounds to go. All of the fat and loose skin is in my belly. I'm trying to get out and walk every day, but I don't think my belly will ever look the same again. I used to love my flat belly and perfect belly button. I've always been thin, so it's strange for me to feel fat.
