must be on a growth spurt. Actually both girls have FINALLY been adding a lot more foods to their "will eat" lists and where Nicole used to eat like a bird, lately she has been cleaning her plate. It's been a couple of weeks now and they are suddenly using their utensils...asking to be excused at the end of the meal...This morning they both ate about 6 fresh cherries each, had whole wheat toast with PB & J AND finished off some of DH's Vector cereal.

So...for those of you with picky toddlers, there is hope. DH and I worked hard never to push with meals (even though it killed me to see Nicole eat next to nothing some meals). We started really trying with table manners when they turned 3 but we didn't think anything was kicking in til now. Wow, only 7 months of consistency and finally some results LOL. Just wanted to send out some encouragement to those of you who are experiencing table troubles.

That sounds great!! mine are still very picky, I think we're about a month younger, so hopefully next month hehe.

I still worry about Vegetables though, I put them on their plate at meals and they just take them off again, I try not to push it, but its so hard. Jessica will eat brocolli, that's it, jorja will eat carrots in vegetable soup but not alone (we call them red potatoes?)

Fruit is still very basic, apples, banana's. Jorja will eat grapes if they are peeled which of course we do as we want her to eat. Oh they do fruit pots too.

    Any ideas for Veggies???

Well done to your two Sharon

My girls love creamed spinach, tomato soup (Trader Joe's), beets -- canned or fresh roasted, peas (frozen not canned), corn (any)...

We're lucky with fruit. The girls love apples, pears, grapes, bananas, and DH makes them smoothies after supper with frozen berries and yogurt. Vegetables are a toughie! Strangely, they've always loved quiche so they get some spinach there, but the only cooked veggies they will eat are corn and peas. We went to my mom's for dinner one night and they picked at the vegetable tray the whole time. They were eating cherry tomatoes, cut up cucumber, raw carrots and Jamie even ate the brocolli. I think they liked the dip most of all, but since then we've been serving them raw veggies as a "side" with some ranch dressing for dipping and they've been eating most of it. They won't even do spaghetti sauce so we've had a tough time with the veggies for sure.

That's great news, and thanks for the encouragement! It is SO hard not to make an issue out of meal times. Maya usually eats well, but Brynne hardle eats anything some days. I do emphasize table manner and try to encourage good habit. I hope we see the same results for our efforts that you are seeing now. Keep up the good work!

That definitely give me some hope for the future. Some days I stress about food all day.
