Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to move this around and start nudging him into switching this around.

He was eating once at night for weeks and now he has gone to eating 2 times at night and eating really good. Now he doesn't eat that great during the day.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

How old is he? Maybeit is time to stop the nighttime feedings all together. That way he'll have to eat during the day. It might be a couple of rough nights, but he'll figure it out!

that was the exact same with me. my boys seemed to be starving at night and then since they had 2 big bottles at night, they would not eat much during the day. I finally realized i needed to feed them every 4 hours during the day so they would drink their whole bottle. before i was going 3 hours and they would have just a few ounces so at night they were starving.

Now they get up usually just once to eat. also though they are now on solids so that is helping too.

Opsies!!! I am sorry, they are 9 weeks old. They eat every 4 hours. The one we are having problems with eats about 4 oz. (maybe 4.5 -5 at the most)at the 8 feeding and the noon feeding. The 4 and 8 pm feeding gets less. Then he wakes up around 12-1 and then 4 to eat and that is when he eats 5 oz.

I may be wrong about this, but I think 2x a night at 9 weeks old is normal. [IMG]
My girls are 5 months old and still get up some nights to eat btw 3&5 am. Like I said, I may be wrong, but I know my girls were waking atleast 2x at 9 weeks old.

Ok...I want to add that I don't think that it is not normal. I am just trying to figure out how to get it back to once a night because that is what he was doing.

Ever since Thursday, we had to start adding cereal to his bottle because of reflux per the Dr. I have a feeling that this has something to do with it and he will naturally get around to back to the one feeding. It is just that eats the best at night time and during the day, it is hard to get him to eat to begin with.

I am just trying to figure out out to gradually move it around, if it can even be done at all.

My DS went to one feeding at night and then "tried" to switch back to 2. I just refused to feed him twice. However, this was at like 3.5 months. At 9 weeks, I don't really think there is much you can do. We found the cereal in the bottle at night helped them go much longer, not the reverse. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Have you tried just giving binkies to see if they can get back to sleep without eating?

My Taylor has reflux pretty bad and has always eaten better at night. She still wakes 2-3x per night to eat. I always give in because she is more relaxed and it is easier for her at night. Also she is low in weight so I keep feeding.
