My Noah Finally Ate Table Food; WOO HOO

Finally, Noah gave in and actually ate some mac and cheese. DH fed it to him and he did not clamp the jaw shut or spit it out or throw it on the floor. He even fed himself some. This is major for us from past posts and trying to get table food into their diet. Now here is the big questions for a control freak like myself. I am not joking when I say this. I still chart oz. of formula/water and juice, poopy diapers, length of nap time and oz of pureed food. Crazy I know!!! :wacko:

SO...........How do I know they are getting enough to eat? So much goes on the floor and their laps that it is hard to monitor the amount of food being eaten. I am so use to xx oz of food. Now, I am still giving them pureed but, I am cutting it back.
I just want to make sure that they are eating enough.

to be honest - I just feed them until they stop crying or try to get out of the highchair...

My girls are younger than your guys but at our 9 mo. appt. yesterday (yep, another control freak here too - asked a gazillion questions about table food) the pedi said that enough is when they are done. He said if they are hungry, they will eat. I had a hard time with the answer simply because, like you, I charted forever! I stopped a while ago but still I know I will be questioning whether or not they have had enough. So I guess just plop down more food if they look hungry. We will be starting this soon so you'll have to let me know what tricks you figure out!

 

DO they act hungry? I feed mine till they start to lose interest in getting more. (less vigorous about the next bite) that's how I tell

I too, let them eat until they start throwing food, and whining to get out of the chair.

So happy! I know you have been worried about this!!
