My night terror

Uggh, I hate vomit. Hate it hate it hate it. Poop on me, I'll be fine, just don't spew chunkybits.

Last night, as I was going to bed, I heard Alice whining in bed. Which is normal, but it just didn't sound right. So I decided to check on her as she was starting to cry. I walked in the room and it smelled like the really bad poops they both had earlier (which made us cut short our ikea trip so we could get them some new un-poopy clothes). So I figured I'd get her up, change her pull up, put her back in bed. Well, it wasn't poop. I picked her up and warm stinky oatmeal coated her. Everything in her bed was covered, and if you remember the other thread, there is a TON of stuff in her bed.

Well, the problem was, that she never really woke up and started having a night terror while I was holding her. I had to get her (and myself) rinsed at this point, and she did not like being rinsed off either in the shower or in the bathtub. Finally she was so upset she woke herself up. My ears are still ringing from her screams. I was crying so hard. :( And trying not to heave myself.

Well, she ended up moving into our bed, we borrowed one of Royce's extra blankets. She then puked in our bed, all over his blanket because she missed the bowl I had put in the bed for her. So I had to change bedding, pajamas, everything again. And we had no extra blankets.

She puked so much last night, I stopped counting at 8 times. It was progressively less each time and mostly just spit towards the end, so I wasn't too worried. Concerned yes, worried no. . .She ended up sleeping underneath the towel I put there for her to lay on. What is she doing today? After a true bath and a drink, she's playing dogs and horses with Royce.

So the moral of the story is, puking in bed is gross, but puking in bed while having a night terror is probably the worst thing I've ever encountered.

    Poor Momma and poor baby!!

We've had a few puke episodes at night and for a few DD wasn't all the way awake, but she never had a night terror at the same time. I can not imagine!

I'm glad she's feeling better today, but I bet you are exhausted.

Oh yikes :( At least kids are pretty good with stomach bugs, mine both got it 4 months ago and didn't seem to care at all, then they gave it to me and it was absolutely awful... they're really pretty resilient!

I asked her later today if she remembered being in the shower last night and she said "no." So if there was any doubt in my mind that it was a night terror, those doubts are gone now.

I just want to suggest to everyone to make sure that you have dye free medicine in the house just for moments like this because I was so scared that she was going to hurl bright blue (Advil) all over the off-white sheets. And that would probably stain.

    :)

 I cannot imagine trying to shower off a screaming sleeping toddler :( I hope she is feeling much better now and that no one else comes down with a tummy bug. :grouphug:
