I think it will be exciting for them. Has anyone else brought young ones, well 6 year old, to a U/S. How did they do?

BTW, for those who read my last post thanks for the post and I am feeling soooo much better knowing what the feeling is. :)

I would think that at 6 years old they'd enjoy it! My dh & I brought our two year olds and although they didn't 'get it,' it worked.

For me, I would be hesitant. I would think it would be fun for a few minutes, but after the novelty wears off I would think they would be bored. Sometimes ultrasounds can take some time especially if they can't get the baby into a good position for whatever they are looking for. My good friend brought her six year old recently to her ultrasound and the tech wouldn't let her husband and daughter into the room except for the the last five minutes. They wound up just sitting in the waiting room for almost an hour doing nothing. The tech was new and she wasn't comfortable with that many people in the room.

Best of luck with your decision!

We brought my five-year-old daughter to the appointment and she was fascinated! It was great but I was glad it was the 'short' one - not the one around 18/20 weeks when they do all the measurements.

My boys are 4.5 and we took them. They sat for awhile and then got restless but did not cause any problems as far as disturbing the tech. They thought they were going to get to see in my belly to see the baby...it was alittle hard for them to understand that the baby's picture was on the screen. I say GO FOR IT!! It will be something for them to talk about with each other and their friends!
