My Newbie Intro.... ;)

Hi,

I've been searching the net looking for any helpful information for expecting twins. I was directed to this site & I am so thrilled to have found it!

I'm Aimee, and 12 weeks along. We just found out last Friday that we are having twins! It was quite the shocker, but very exciting. We do not have any twins on either side of our family. I'm married to Ryan and we have two daughters, Natalie-6 1/2 and Avery Elise- 3 1/2. So, we're going from a family of four to a shocking family of six! I'm looking forward to reading all the information and *meeting* everyone in this community!

TS is the BEST place, I was SOOOO happy when I found it too! We are like you, NO twins run in our family....Its a scary thought to jump from a family of 3 to one of 5.

Congratulations and welcome! I also found out at 12 weeks and still remember the shocked feeling; it lasted for a while. But you've come to a great place for support and advice. Glad you joined us!

 

Congratulations and welcome! We are in the same boat as you...no twins on either side. I have a 3 year old stepson, but this is my first pregnancy so I have nothing to compare it to, but I have to say that I think the twin pregnancy is such a special experience.

You'll learn more than you'd ever thought you wanted to know about twins and then some...we share A LOT here! :rotflmbo: No subject is too taboo!

Just like you, hubby and I have no family history of twins, and this is our first pregnancy with fraternal twins We're clueless, and man, are we glad we found this forum!!

Thanks so much.....Congratulations to you too! Wasn't it a complete shock to see that u/s & those two little babies for the first time?!! I was in awe. You are right, my pregnancies for my daughters were very special, but this time it's such a different experience. We joked it was our "Grand Finale" for our last pregnancy. Best of luck to you.....I'm so jealous that everyone is so close to meeting their twins! lol

LOL...the TMI is not a problem. I've been a part of a delphi-forum for my January 2002 daughter & we've all shared LOTS of info over the last six years! lol

Thanks so much!! I can imagine this place is a lifesaver. I'm ready to absorb as much information as I can & share in everyones experience with their twins.

Isn't it such a shocker, when it never really occurs to you about having twins?!?! I can imagine if it were a part of your family history, knowing that *possibility* was there, but we were floored.....and extremely thrilled. Congratulations and Best of luck to you!!!

Thanks so much! Our girls are SO excited & talk about the twins everyday. They have put in their request for one of each---a boy and a girl. I hope we can meet that requirement. lol

I was on Twinstuff like CRAZY during my pregnancy & this site really eased my mind about so many things :good:
Time seems to go by in some insane warp speed now!! i cannot believe they are almost 10 months.
My advice would be to try to enjoy the moments as best as you can when they are first born, even though you will be very tired. That newborn stage just goes by way too fast!

I can picture that first year just flying by. I still can't believe my girls are 6 & 3 years old. I have this fear that your first year with twins will be a blur! lol Lots of pictures & documenting those milestones, right?!? I'm hoping I'll be easing a lot of my concerns & questions by reading through TS.
