Just about every holiday we get the twins pictures taken in a costume (Pooh & Tigger for Halloween, Santa for Christmas). I always agree because she insists on it & always pays for it. This Easter, she bought the twins a bunny costume. Don't get me wrong, it's adorable, but I feel as though the boys are getting too big for that & that she is holding on to the 'infant' days. She always buys a ridiculous photo package and I can't see spending the money on something like that. I mentioned if we could maybe get them done wearing a cute spring/summer outfit so it would be practical to hand out to people for the months ahead. She just told me that if I want that, I can do it on my own time  I don't want to disappoint her, but I still think it's ridiculous. Should I just let it slide to make her happy or keep weighing out the pros to get a more practical seasonal photo?

Do a costume change! We did that for the twins 9 months pictures ... I had them all dressed up in these cute outfits, and they were miserable ... we decided to do a costume change in the middle, and got MUCH better pics with them just in matching onesies.

Maybe if you do that, you will both be happy? Most picture places have no problem with you changing their outfits ...

Ohhh let the happy grandma do what she wants!! So nice to hear someone loves their grandbabies sooo much. Do request to get some pics in a pretty outfit too though other than the costume for yourselves. Nothing wrong with wearing some costumes and they probably would enjoy it if they knew better! Those boys are soo lucky to have her!

Hmmmm if she is paying for it and she got the costumes why not? Its not my thing and I can't imagine my mom insisting on it, but I think this might be a case of picking your battles. Your boys are still little, so its not like they are 10 and she is dragging them to the mall in bunny suits. Maybe you can say something like "Ok, but mom this is the 'costume' photo-shoot. Next year we are going to do cute spring outfits."

LOL hey if she is paying for it I'd let her do it! You can blackmail them with those photos when they are teenagers!

I agree with either the costume change idea (then you both get what you want) or just letting her have her costume pictures this year since it will probably be the last year you'll be able to corral them in a bunny suit. Good luck!

I agree too. As she is paying for everything I'd let it go. If your boys co-operate with an outfit change then great, if not then just let her have her bunny photos. I'm sure it won't be long before they are refusing to wear any costume they don't love anyway. Maybe your mom realises this and is trying to get while the getting's good!
