We're babysitting my folks' ancient terrier while they're off visiting family and it's been quite the zoo lately. This morning, as I was trying to keep two eager boys inside and get our big, silly dog and the fragile old lady out, the cat ran in past the chaos. Trent went after her and a few seconds later I hear him, "Sparkle, nooo... Sparkle goes OUTside!" and there he is carrying the cat to the door. She's not a small cat. I thought it was so cute that he's finally getting big enough that some of his helpfulness is actually helpful. B) His reward was getting to feed the cat -- something he LOVES to do.

It's nice when they can help!! I love that I can tell them to let the dog in or out and various other things!!!

    YAY, Trent (and YAY, Mommy)!

Too cute. Our cats are still soo skittish of the boys that I think if they ever could get close enough to pick one up they'd lose an eye.

Awe! That's adorable! Our cats and dog too take off in other directions when they see our girls come after them...our dog is getting better about it...but they are the types that don't like to have their tail pulled in all directions by a couple of toddlers!

Oh, this cat is a gem. Some fool abandoned her "in the country" along with a dog. The dog found our neighbor's house, the cat found ours. She came to us already fixed, friendly with large dogs, and exceptionally passive with young children (if she gets tired of their attention, she just goes where they can't reach her). She's a beautiful calico and an amazing rodent hunter. I can't imagine what they were thinking.
