So monday morning i wasnt feeling myself decided to go into work a couple hours late, got up to get ready and had a pinkish color when i whipped, got scared and decided we should take a trip to l & d to make sure all was well, because I feel I am way to early to be having problems. when i got there they hooked my up to the machines and had a hard time keeping the babies heartbeats monitored because they kept moving and kicking around. i had an U/s done and they tech who has over 10yrs experienced said she is not 100% convinced that there is a complete membrane seperating my boys, that she shes the start of one but then as we follow it it vanishes, she also said that there is no way possible if there is a membrane for baby b to have his legs wrapped around baby a's head (it was cute) lol never the less now i am worried that i may have momo twins since they are questioning the membrane now. I was having a few contractions but not many and wasnt dilated at all (THANK GOD) but the dr took me off work and has me on complete bedrest til 2morrow when i see him, then he will decided if i need to just take it easy and stop work or if i need to stay in bed all day and night as well each day. im so overwhelmed and feeling like tomorrow is taking forever to get here. im not use to asking for help with things, and being taken off work this early is stressing me financially as well!! Im just so lost..... the good news is that the boys are fine but i have so many things going through my mind right now, i know my poor boys can feel my tention :nea: and they dont need to....my next milestone is 28wks and im hoping these lil boys will stay in there for at least another 12 weeks!!!

Good luck tomorrow- I hope you get some good news. I know it is hard to rely on everyone else for things you need, but it is something you will just need to do if it is best for your babies! Keep you head up, and feet of coarse. Get lots of rest!

:hug99: We had a very very thin membrane and it could be that a's legs were just looking really close to b's head. In other words it could just be a postioning problem

I just wanted to add also that I am 21 weeks with mono/di twins and at my ultrasound yesterday as we were watching the babies kick each other's heads (they are facing opposite directions) and similar to what you saw, I even have 3D photos of one of the babies with his/her legs on either side of the other baby's head. I specifically commented on how much they were able to kick, touch and interact with each other to my ultrasound technician since we have confirmed the dividing membrane at each ultrasound and she said that although very strong, that thin membrane is really like saran wrap and does allow that kind of interaction.

The ultrasound at a high risk ob/peri/maternal fetal medicine, done by a technician with specific experience in doing ultrasounds for multiples, is going to be a lot more reliable than one done in the ER, I would imagine ~ even with the technician being good and having experience.

I bet everything is just fine with the membrane!

I don't have a scanner right now, but I'll try to take a picture of the u/s pic I got yesterday showing my babies close interactions.

    Good thoughts headed your way!

my babies invade each others space too, kicking each other mainly. One even reached out and grabbed her sisters foot to make her stop. I had been diagnosed with mono/mono twins at about 18 weeks and it was just that the sonographer wasn't that good (I must have been distracting her as well) and the machine wasn't the best either. I ended up going to UCSF the week after my next dr. appointment where he basically gave my babies no hope - and the sonographer there saw it as well as the perinatologist. They ruled out 2 other serious things that the dr. didn't tell me they saw. I'm kinda glad he didn't. But at my new OB's place and our first appointment, where my OB did the u/s she saw it briefly as well. You think you're seeing things when it shoes. A good way to see it is when you lay on your side. Are they mingling? or does the baby on top have a cushion they are laying on??

thank u ladies very much, i cant get my mind off of it. im hoping i just have a very thin membrane like some of u other ladies. they said at my last peri appt it was super thin, so im hoping that the u/s machine at l & d just isnt as advanced but im going to have peri check again on monday for the membrane. when i lay on my side it does feel like no baby is on the top and its so super hard on the side i am laying on. i can feel them move and kick but havnt been able to tell which is which kicking. Also the one thing that scared me from the u/s tech is that baby a was head down on my left side with butt right under my left ribs, and baby b was on the right side by opposite butt by pelvic and head by ribs...then 2 min later they were crossing each other baby a butt on right side and head on left under ribs and baby b head down on right side and butt under ribs on left....i didnt think they could cross like that if there was a membrane? hope i didnt confuse anyone.....im praying for a membrane (so scared if not)

It's more likely that the babies flipped upside down and right side up.
At 22 weeks, it's pretty hard to see the membrane. My OB stopped looking for it long before that.

I hope all's well tomorrow. Hang in there! :hug99:
