    Hello everyone!!

So last week we had our 34 week scan and Non Stress Test. During the NST, the MFM doc noticed that my 2-3 minute cxs were also causing Hunter's heart rate to descelerate. I was sent to L&D and within minutes of being checked in, my cxs were not only 1 minute apart, they were also causing continued descelerations for Hunter. The decision was made to schedule c-section for 8 pm that evening because I had lunch at 2pm and they wanted at least 6 hours between lunch and the surgery to give me time to digest the food. This was around 5pm. But while they were geting me ready for the surgery, my cxs worsened and with it, Hunter's heart rate descelarations. They tried everything to get his heart back up but to no avail and after about 3 minutes of this, they told me the babies needed to come out STAT. I was going to have an emergency c-section.

So without my beautifully packed bag, camcorder, camera - nothing but my DH and my pocket book, I was wheeled into the OR for a c-section. I was severely medicated because they had very little time to get me well managed under the epidural so by the time the babies were delivered at 5:36 and 5:37, I was completely out of it. DH did see everything and he gave me a very detailed account of the fairly uneventful delivery of my twins.

Morgan weighed in at 5lbs 8oz and Hunter was 5lbs 3oz at birth. They were taken to the ICN for monitoring while I went to the recovery room to get over the severe trauma of the c-section. It was awfully painful and I'm still in severe pain today, 6 days later. I can't walk much, my incision line is long and hurts like h*** so I'm on a constant dose of percocet every 4 hours and motrin very 6 hours, my milk has come in and my boobs are on fire but in spite of all the pain and discomfort, I am the happiest woman in the world.

We are all home now and it's very chaotic and nuts. I change diapers, nurse, burp, soothe, pump my boobs and gaze at my children all day long. My DH has a goofy grin/smile on his face when he is not crying from sheer joy. I'm tired but very happy indeed. I have some water weight bloating from the c-section which I didn't have with the vaginal delivery of my 6yro son so that's kinda weird. But all in all, life is great in our home.

I wish everyone the very best!!!!

    Hunter

Congratulations! They are beutiful and great sizes! I wanted to tell you that I also had water weight from my c-section with my son. I ended up coming home weighing more than when I left! I lost all the water within a week of coming home from the hospital. I lost 20 pounds in one week!
